Apple cider mulled wine made with a bottle of white wine, whole spices, apples, and apple cider. Perfect to cozy up to in wintertime!

Apple Cider Mulled Wine

  • 1 bottle of affordable white wine (try Pinot Grigio!)
  • 1 orange, sliced into rounds
  • 2 small or 1 large apples, diced (skins on)
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 1 cup fresh apple cider
  • 24 TBSP pure maple syrup

optional garnishes

  • sliced orange
  • extra cinnamon sticks

  1. Add the wine, orange slices, apples, cinnamon, apple cider, and maple syrup to a large saucepan.  Stir briefly to combine.
  2. Heat the ingredients on medium-high heat until it just reaches a simmer. Avoid letting it bubble — you don’t want to boil off the alcohol. Reduce heat to low, cover, and let the wine simmer for at least 15 minutes or up to 3 hours.
  3. Using a strainer, remove and discard the orange slices, diced apples, and cinnamon sticks. Taste the mulled wine and stir in extra maple syrup if needed.
  4. Serve warm in mugs topped with your favorite garnishes!
  5. This recipe is best when fresh, however, you can store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 2-3 days and reheat before serving.
