Easy blueprint breakfast yogurt bowl with warm berries, sautéed apples, yogurt favorite granola, nut butter, and baked apple chips for crunch!

I still remember the first time I *really* meditated.

It was a Friday night and I decided to stay after my normal vinyasa flow for the later meditation class.

Sitting cr0ss-legged, I tried not to fidget, alternating small micro-movements in my fingers and toes to prevent my phalanges from falling asleep.

I focused on the guided words of the instructor and my breath, anything to prevent my mind from an internal laundry list loop.

Afterwards, I blinked my eyes open, certain only ten or so minutes had passed since I closed them.

When I realized it had been a full thirty minutes I was astonished.

I conveyed this to a fellow yogi practicing beside me and he smiled knowingly and said, “That’s how you know you’re meditating.”

“Hmm,” I said, still sitting.

I stretched, assessing the waking world beyond my mat with bleary eyes, feeling as though I was returning from a really special place I didn’t know existed.

Guys, I miss that place.

Lately my meditation practice has been sorely lacking.

I’m the first to admit that I click the “X” out of my virtual pre-recorded yoga before the savasana party even begins.

But I’m trying to get back into it, practicing quieting my mind in the AM before making a big bowl of yogurt for breakfast.

This Apple Pie Yogurt Bowl is apple pie in yogurt form with sautéed apples, almond milk yogurt, and a crispy apple chip flourish.

Yogurt Recipes Are the Best!

For the last few months I’ve been eating yogurt daily like it’s my J-O-B.

Why?

Well, because it’s delicious and oh-so versatile.

M loves a yogurt and muesli style breakfast so we started doing a yogurt buffet spread on weekend mornings that rolled over into weekdays.

For the past month I’ve been really been a stickler about it because I’m antibiotics and every bit of probiotics I can add back into my gut feels worth it.

Especially when it’s as easy as apple pie.

This Apple Pie Yogurt Bowl is my favorite variation that we’ve been eating on repeat here at F&V.

It’s complete with warm sautéed apples, microwaved berries, and a crispy apple chip finish.

Tips & Tricks for How to Make Apple Pie Yogurt Bowls

Usually I like to sauté the apples in advance, maybe on Sunday or the evening before so they’re ready to go.

The warm berries are a really nice touch in this bowl to compliment the apples.

M is the one who got me started on microwaved berries in my breakfast bowls.

I’m not a huge fan of microwave cooking, but the microwave does an amazing job of adding depth of flavor and heat to the fruit in this bowl.

If you’re using fresh berries, I recommend only microwaving them for 30-45 seconds.

If you’re using frozen berries, I like to microwave them closer to 1.5 minutes, stirring at each 30 second interval.

My favorite berry blend is a mix of raspberries, blueberries, and blackberries.

Once your fruit is warm, you can pile on the almond milk yogurt, granola, almond butter, and apple chip finish.

The Best Apple Pie Yogurt Bowl Toppings

At first I was hesitant to top my bowl with Bare Snacks Apple Chips.

M, who is much more adventurous than me with his brekky bowls, use up a bag of apple chip crumbs  and reported back how good it was.

The next morning I tried it myself and had to agree.

These 1-ingredient baked apple chips do a fantastic job of retaining their crunch against all of the gooeyness of the bowl.

They also enhance the apple pie flavor and add texture and crunch!

I recommend crumbling them up with your hands so they have almost a granola-like consistency.

This bowl is best enjoyed warm right after creation.

Try preparing the sautéed apples and berries in advance so you can easily assemble everything in five minutes in the morning.

Enjoy!

This Thai Carrot Sweet Potato Soup is made on the stovetop with root vegetables and yellow curry paste blended with a spoonful of nut butter. I used a standing blender but you can also use an immersion blender to achieve the creamiest consistency.

I love topping my soup with cilantro, @edenfoods Tamari Roasted Almonds, and @edenfoods Hot Pepper Sesame Oil.

@edenfoods Tamari Roasted Almonds are infrared roasted organic almonds with complimentary organic tamari soy sauce. They’re a delicious snack packed with protein and fiber. You can enjoy them on their own, added to trail mix, on salads and bowls, or…on soup!

@edenfoods Hot Pepper Sesame Oil is a delicious unrefined expeller pressed toasted sesame oil that is infused with hot red chili peppers. Friends, this stuff is HOT! Just a *drop* adds a big kick to your dressings, marinades, stir-fries, etc. If you have a wild side, add a drop or two to your soup bowl for a little extra heat!

Feel free to add your favorites, like roasted chickpeas, green onion, and sesame seeds.
