Best black bean burgers made with Black Beans, almond flour, and oats. Enjoy with your favorite toppings for plant-based burger night!
So, are you on Threads yet?
I finally joined last week just to see what all of the fuss was about.
If you’re curious, it feels reminiscent of Twitter with a mix of circa ~2013 Instagram thrown in.
It’s funny that I first heard about this trending new social media network via M, who really doesn’t use social media at all.
I wanted to hop on to see if it might be a nice way to connect with the F&V community in a more conversational way.
As social media platforms pop up and change, I’m super grateful that I have a forever home in this website.
And all of you, friends, are my forever family!
And since we’re family, we should really sit down this summer to a meal together, don’t you think?
These Best Black Bean Burgers are super easy to make with Eden Foods Organic Black Beans, almond flour, and oats.
Enjoy them with your favorite toppings for a plant-based burger night!
How to Make Homemade Black Bean Burgers
Do you ever go through seasons where your food cravings completely change?
Well this summer, all I want is a burger and fries.
If you’ve been around here a while, you know that’s pretty wild.
Usually I’m happy when my plate is primarily vegetables, but lately I’m craving all of the hearty and satiating vegan foods.
So, I decided to make my own plant-based burgers that are packed with protein, fiber, and flavor.
We’ve got several veggie burgers on the blog already, but these black bean burgers are mostly black beans!
They’re dense and compact, making them perfect to stack on lettuce leaves, buns, or in salad or bowl.

Eden Foods Organic Black Beans
First, preheat the oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Grab a couple of cans of Eden Foods Organic Black Beans; the star of this recipe!
These are by far my favorite black beans.
I aways have a few cans in the pantry for soups, stews, tacos, brownies, and burgers!
These organic black turtle beans are canned with no chemical additives and no salt!
I love how versatile they are; with a mild sweetness and a buttery texture.
The valuable antioxidant pigment carotenoids found in berries gives these beans their dark color.
Cool, huh?
How to Make Best Black Bean Burgers
Add the black beans to a mixing bowl and slightly smash them, leaving some of whole beans intact.
I’d say about 50% smashed is a good goal to aim for.
Next, add in the almond flour, oats, garlic powder, cumin, chili powder, smoked paprika, Himalayan sea salt, black pepper, and tahini.
I recommend using Eden Foods Organic Roasted Sesame Tahini!
Mix everything in the bowl well until the burger mix is thick and compact.
If it’s too dry, add a little more tahini.
Using a ~1/3 cup measuring cup, scoop out the mixture and transfer it to the parchment lined baking sheet.
Gently press down on the burgers with the bottom of the measuring cup to flatten them.
Tips & Tricks
The recipe makes about 6-8 burgers, depending on how large you’d like to make your burgers.
Transfer the sheet pan meal to the oven and bake the burgers for a total of 20 minutes.
Be sure to flip them with a spatula after the 10 minute mark for even baking.

Can’t wait to make these. No food processor, just a fork! Do you think I could use chia seeds instead of flax as the binder?
