Starbucks copycat blueberry oatmeal made on the stovetop in 10 minutes and served with berries, nuts, and dried fruit. It’s easier to make at home!
In my past life, I was a *big* Starbucks frequenter.
Yeah, gold card holder talking, here.
Aside from my daily Grande Half-Caff No-Foam Almond Milk Latte, I loved their selection of breakfast items.
One of my favorite menu items was the blueberry oatmeal.
The oatmeal itself is nothing spectacular, but I loved all of the goodies that you could dress it up with.
If you don’t order it with *all* of the toppings, you’re doing it wrong!
It was enjoying this oatmeal on the go that I first tried nuts and dried fruit in oatmeal, a practice that has forever changed the way I see oats.
While I still head to Starbucks every Saturday for my weekly latte-fix, I make the food at home now.
This year, I set out to recreate their oatmeal at home with all of my favorite mix-ins.
This Blueberry Oatmeal (Starbucks Copycat) is made on the stovetop in 10 minutes and served with berries, nuts, and dried fruit.
Trust me when I say that it’s easier and more delicious to make at home and saves money, plastic, and fuel, too!
Here’s What You Need to Make Blueberry Oatmeal (Starbucks Copycat):
- gluten-free old fashioned rolled oats
- unsweetened almond milk
- cinnamon
- blueberries
- mixed nuts (slivered almonds, chopped pecans, chopped walnuts)
- dried fruit (raisins, dried cranberries, or dried cherries)
- pure maple syrup
That’s it!
How to Make Blueberry Oats Like Starbucks!
These oats are so easy to make in just 10 minutes on the stovetop.
Add the oats, unsweetened almond milk, and cinnamon to a small saucepan over medium-high heat.
Bring the mixture to a low boil, then reduce the heat to a simmer and cook the oats for about 10 minutes.
Cooking longer will lead to creamier oats, but isn’t required!
Stir the mixture frequently to prevent all of the good stuff from sticking to the bottom of the pan.
Add a splash of almond milk if the mixture gets too dry.
The oats are done when they’re thick and creamy and fully expanded without any excess milk.
Transfer the oatmeal to a bowl and let the topping tango begin.
Add Your Toppings
Here’s the best part– adding toppings to your warm bowl of oats!
To get the full Starbucks copycat experience, I added fresh blueberries, mixed nuts, dried fruit, and a drizzle of maple syrup.
I did a mix of slivered almonds, chopped pecans, and chopped walnuts, but you can add whatever you have on hand.
For the dried fruit, I love a mix of raisins, dried cranberries, and dried cherries.
Starbucks originally used agave syrup, but I prefer using maple syrup as a light sweetener.
Date paste or syrup would work well here, too!
How to Enjoy Them
These Stovetop Blueberry Oatmeal (Starbucks Copycat) are the perfect fuel for your day no matter the season!
You’re going to love all of the different textures on top with the mix of fresh berries, nuts, seeds, and dried fruit.
Add more or less maple syrup to get your desired sweetness.
I kept this variation close to the Starbucks version, but feel free to mix up the toppings to make your own variation.
This recipe is best made and served fresh.
However, you can double or triple the recipe to share with others!
I love enjoying a warm bowl as a quick and nutritious workweek breakfast.
Enjoy!
