Easy caffeine-free beet latte sweetened with dates! Perfect to add to your morning routine or as an afternoon pick-me-up or nutritious nightcap.
Is anyone else a total control freak when ordering their hot beverages out?
In college I used to order decaf lattes at the coffee-shop central to campus.
“Did I say decaf?” I asked the lady after placing my order, knowing full well that I said decaf but just wanting to confirm that she knew that I really didn’t want 2-shots of espresso coursing through me at 9 PM.
Then I proceeded to hover around the waiting station, watching their milk selection with piercing eyes, ready to pounce if they did so much as look at the 2% over the soy (almond milk wasn’t a thing yet back then).
When my drink was finally passed to me across the counter, I lifted it gingerly, knowing instinctively based on the weight whether or not it was 50% foam (the worst!)
…
Aren’t you glad you’ve never had to take my order?
Control freaks, relax.
This Date-Sweetened Beet N’atte is totally customizable to meet your pretty in pink beverage needs.
It’s also plant-based, caffeine-free, and naturally sweetened with dates!
If you will be well served, you must serve yourself.
So let’s SERVE it.
If you’ve been following me for a while you know I’ve got a love affair going on with beets that just keeps getting bigger and brighter.
If you’re thinking, but Lauren, you want me to drink beets?
Well, yes, yes, yes, I do.
These lattes get their deep coral color from beetroot powder.
The taste is earthy, mild, and sweet.
Paired with creamy almond or coconut milk, cinnamon, and ginger, it makes a vibrant drink that’s as fun to drink as it is to look at.
If you can’t find beet powder, try subbing 1 small peeled and roasted beet for similar results.
So, why “N’atte”?
Aside from my morning matcha lattes, caffeine and I just don’t get along the way we used to.
I still love the ritual of warm beverages though, so I appreciate caffeine-free options where I can find them.
The absence of espresso allows the sweet beet flavor to shine here as the star of these mugs!
If you’re looking for a caffeinated version, try adding in a shot of expresso or strong brewed coffee to turn this N’atte into a Latte.
I used Fruit Bliss Deglet Nour Dates to perfectly sweeten these beet lattes.
These sweet and juicy dates are organic, gluten-free, vegan, and non-GM) in resealable pouches that are ready for anything.
I recommend using less dates to start out, then taste the beverage and add more to the blender to reach your desired sweetness.
Deglet Nour dates are slightly smaller than Medjool dates, so I typically use anywhere from 2-4 to sweeten a single serve latte.
If you have a date intolerance or are looking for another sweetener, I recommend using maple syrup instead, starting out with 1 TBSP and adjusting as needed.
Enjoy this Date-Sweetened Beet N’atte whenever you’re craving a beverage that’s cozy and unique.
Drink it as a mid-morning snack, as an afternoon pick-me-up, or as a nourishing nightcap to end your day.
Just serving one? No problem!
Divide the ingredients below in half and pour into your favorite cozy mug for yours truly.
I love mine with a sprinkle of cinnamon and lots of froth on top.
If you don’t have a Beet N’atte stash when you’re done…you’re doing it wrong.

Would date syrup be a good substitution for the dates? I recently purchased the syrup and wondered how I might use it.
Flora & Vino
Yes, that would be perfect! Let me know how it goes and leave a review once you’ve tried it! I would try subbing 2 TBSP date paste for the above amount and add more sweetness as needed.
