A collection of my current 2024 favorites to inspire meaningful gift ideas for you and yours this holiday season. Happy holidays!
Happy happy holidays, friends!
This is our first Christmas with the new pup, so we’re skipping travel this year and making memories at home with her. Since I’ve met M, we’ve been spending every other year Christmas in Germany. While holiday travel is so special and exciting, I’m equally excited to do…nothing this year. I’m looking forward to getting a Christmas tree and filling the base with all of the wrapped gifts I’m currently stashing in my photography closet!
I’m excited to share some of my favorite 2024 discoveries with you in this year’s holiday gift guide. There’s a wide range of genres and price points so you are guaranteed to find something for everyone in your life. Check them out and see if they might be a good fit for you or someone you love. Wishing you a very happy holiday season and new year!
1. Carter Move Mug: ($30)
My friends introduced me to this mug during our first (and only!) camping trip of the year. I was immediately impressed by the sleek design and splash guard so you can take your coffee on the go without spilling. This means more confident sipping on coffee walks and less coffee spillage. Of course, I got the Smoke Green color, but there are some other cool colors, too. Perfect for the camper, coffee lover, or anyone taking hot drinks on the go!
2. Rumpl Nanoloft Travel Blanket: ($85)
I’ve been a fan of Rumpl for my camping trips and beyond for a while because…I’m always cold and an extra lightweight yet warm blanket is ALWAYS a good idea. When we visited Wyoming and lived out of a camper van for a week, I brought my new Rumple Nanoloft Travel Blanket with me. This blanket was a game changer because it was small enough to pack in a suitcase, lightweight enough to carry anywhere, and somehow still warm and cozy. It really made a difference to throw on for chilly sub freezing mornings in the camper van. When I’m not traveling, I keep my Travel Rumpl in the car so it’s there if I need it for car trouble, a spontaneous chilly evening, or cuddling up in the car. A great gift for the world traveler and or constantly cold!
3. Perfectly Imperfect by Baron Baptiste: ($12.94)
One of my yoga teachers began reading from this book during our classes and the passages always resonated deeply with me. I purchased the book and began reading it to my students during my new Saturday morning yoga class. The chapters are light and easily digestible with wisdom that parallels life both on and off the yoga mat. This is a great read for those interested in self improvement, yoga, wellness, and the interconnectedness of all three.
4. Everusely Stainless Steel Food Containers: ($40)
Of course I wanted (read: needed) to meal prep while traveling and living out of a camper can for a week in Wyoming this summer. I couldn’t pack glass, and didn’t want to purchase containers when we landed, so I packed these Stainless Steel Food Containers instead. I *love* that they stack inside of one another like a matryoshka doll so they are portable and compact. While they don’t weigh nothing, they weigh far less than glass! I loved using them on my week away and found them to be durable, air tight, and functional. I also love the brightly colored silicone lids for a plastic free option. This gift is perfect for the meal preppers on your list who always bring their food to go!
5. MadFit App (prices vary)
This year I was itching to start getting more serious about my strength training. I found the MadFit App, and immediately the founder and trainer, Maddie, and her wide variety of classes and programs. I love that you can mix and match classes and programs, from strength to pilates to dance. The workouts are super customizable and accessible to help you reach your personal goals and lifestyle. This is a great gift idea for anyone looking to start or mix up their workout routine.
6. Pact Organic Cotton Underwear (prices vary)
I discovered Pact this year and I’m obsessed with their organic cotton clothing made in Fair Trade certified factories. These cotton underwear are the most comfortable I’ve tried in my journey of switching to cotton undies. They’re great for any occasion and come in a variety of colors and styles! Check out their other clothing while you’re at it. I have a few tops and dresses that are equally amazing! Perfect for anyone searching for some under or outer wear that’s sustainably made.
7. Nagadi Coffee: (prices vary)
Quite possibly my favorite find of the year was stumbling upon Nagadi Coffee during my search for some new beans for M’s birthday in January. After we both loved the beans I ordered online, we decided to venture in person to Nagadi Coffee in Silver Spring, MD on a Saturday morning. We expected to love the coffee on site, but what we didn’t expect was to find a community. We are now warmly greeted every Saturday with “our usual” (an oat milk latte for me and an espresso and pour over for M), cheerful conversation, and the best coffee I’ve honestly ever tasted in the DMV area and beyond. M and I both have our favorites, but I can absolutely say that I enjoy all of their beans. My current go-to is the Ethiopia- Yirgacheffe Dumerso and M’s is the Costa Rica- Cumbres del Poas. Nagadi means “traveler” in ancient Ethiopian, so if you’re local, make the expedition to try this hidden gem. If you’re not, they ship nationally, so let the beans travel for you! This is a great gift for the coffee connoisseur on your list.
8. SMV wine (prices vary)
This year I decided I wanted to stop buying so much of the same *OK* grocery store wine. So, I joined Sugarloaf Mountain Vineyard Bacchus Club and since then we have been thoroughly enjoying their quarterly wine releases + all of their wines in between. We love being members here and supporting local wine! I haven’t had a bad wine yet at Sugarloaf, and the location is beautiful and serene. It also happens to be perfectly nestled near Sugarloaf Mountain, a great attraction for hiking and climbing, so it’s a great reward after a long day outdoors. I’m a red drinker, so I highly recommend any of their reds. This is a great gift idea for the wine lover on your list!
9. Hydroflask 24-oz. Wide Mouth Trail Series ($44.95)
This Hydroflask was another purchase I made in a frenzy of packing and prepping for our Wyoming trip. I wanted something a little sleeker and easier to fit in a backpack than my bulky Nalgene. This Hydroflask absolutely did the trick, and it’s been my favorite water canteen since I got it in June. It’s the perfect size to keep you hydrated but not overloaded and fits nicely in a backpack or large purse. The lid has a nice feeling handle that I find myself using a lot to carry it. It’s great for every day use as well as travel, and works really nicely at the airport as a refillable water bottle! Perfect for the traveler or the person on your list that never leaves the house without their water…(me!).
10. Patagonia P-6 Logo Uprisal Hoodie ($89)
I’m a sucker for a cozy hoodie, and this unisex Patagonia hoodie doesn’t disappoint. I’m currently doing everything I can to keep it away from the shark teeth of my 5 month old puppy, Flora, but it’s hard because I want to *live* in this thing. It’s super cozy and roomy without being bulky. The inside is super soft after multiple washes and the material is durable and thick. They have a lot of colors, but I snagged the green and navy blue for my collection. I chose a size S for a roomier feel, so pick the size that will allow you to be coziest! This is a perfect gift idea for anyone on your list who needs some cozy clothes this winter.
11. Paperage Lined Notebook Journal ($9.95)
I’m a list person, what can I say? I also to this day, prefer to hand write things over type them. Something about writing out my TO-DOs, my yoga routine, or my food photography plans, just helps it stick better. So, I have a variety of these lined notebook journals that I use for different themes to keep my thoughts and plans organized. They have a variety of colored covers to choose from, and the recycled paper is thick and sturdy enough to withstand pen ink without bleeding through. This is a great gift idea for the aspiring writer, planner, or anyone obsessed with the possibilities of clean paper!
12. OXB Jewelry (prices vary)
I love me some minimalistic, simple, classy jewelry. Preferably in gold. Bonus points if it’s sweat-proof like OXB jewelry! I started purchasing this jewelry as a yoga teacher but broadened my collection for everyday life. I personally love their rings and necklaces, but they have all sorts of beautiful jewelry! A lot of them are customizable too, making them a more personal gift idea. This is a great gift idea for the jewelry lover or fitness fashionista on your list.
13. ACOTAR Series ($52.25)
This is the year that I decided that I unabashedly fell in love with fantasy. It all started when A Court of Thorns and Roses was selected as our bookclub book for early summer. I devoured the book greedily, and continued to read on through no. 5. I went on the read other series after that, but I consider the ACOTAR series to be the gateway drug to fantasy, so to speak. It’s a great way for new fantasy readers to get hooked on this exciting world that is so similar yet different to our own. The perfect series to gift a book lover this year!
14. Darë Vegan Cheese (prices vary)
As a vegan, I’m the first to admit that it’s *hard* to replace cheese. And yet, somehow Darë cheese has done it and done it WELL. I’m obsessed with this North Carolina based brand that I discovered this year. I love all of their wedge cheeses and their vegan cream cheese is hands down the best I’ve ever had. Even better, their ingredients are minimal and clean (cashew and coconut-based), without a long list of preservatives, gums, and emulsifiers. We quickly added Darë cheese to our wine nights, enjoying a wedge with crackers for the ultimate cheese and wine pairing. This is a great gift idea for a family or entertaining this season so everyone can try a bite!
15. Athleta Excursion Backpack ($119)
This is the last purchase I’ll share from my Wyoming trip: this Athleta Excursion Backpack. I wanted something lightweight with lots of pockets and opportunities for organization. This backpack didn’t disappoint. It tripled as a travel backpack, hiking backpack, and purse for me during my summer trips and now I use it daily because it’s just that convenient. The black looks sleek and stylish and the backpack straps are comfortable and durable. This is a great little backpack with so much versatility! It’s a great gift idea for the traveler, adventurer, or anyone needing a new backpack.
16. Just Enough Wine: The Red Set ($58)
I know, I know, I already have some wine on the gift guide. However, this Just Enough Wine is a category all by itself. I discovered this wine last holiday season, when it was gifted to me as a set with chocolate. I immediately loved the idea of a single sustainable canned wine. There are so many nights where I’d love to have a glass of wine but don’t want to commit to a *whole* bottle. Not only is this canned wine super convenient with “just enough” wine inside (9-0z pours!), they also taste delicious. I was pleasantly surprised by all of their reds and whites I’ve tried so far. They also have fun varieties like bubbles and Rosé. It’s perfect to enjoy for date night-in, picnics out, and camping. A great gift for wine lovers!
