Holiday Gift Guide 2020

November 29, 2020 By Flora & Vino Leave a Comment

A collection of my current 2020 favorites to inspire meaningful gift ideas for you and yours this holiday season. Happy holidays!

Holiday Gift Guide 2020 by Flora & Vino

We made it to the holidays, friends! It’s been a hard year, to say the least. At first I struggled to throw together this gift guide, knowing the things we long for the most can’t be bought. However, right now, more than ever, I thought we could use some holiday cheer. Here are a few of my favorite 2020 discoveries that made me smile this year. Check them out to see if they might light up  you and yours. For more holiday gift guides, check out my 2018 Holiday Gift Guide and 2019 Holiday Gift Guide. Wishing you a very safe, happy, and healthy holiday season!

  1. Shift Studio Flora Holiday Yoga Pass (3 months UNLIMITED LIVE classes + streaming): ($110) I graduated YTT as a certified yoga instructor in February of 2020, just weeks before COVID changed the way we practice. I stopped going to the studio in early March and started practicing on my own. When my former YTT instructor, yoga teacher, and friend Marcia started teaching classes online I eagerly joined. Since then, Shift Studio was born, offering a variety of classes and instructors with something for everyone. Whether catching the energy of a live class or unwinding with a class via stream, this space is really special, guys. I’m excited to share it with you and offer an exclusive deal via Shift Studio. It’s perfect to gift to the yogi in your circle or someone interested in beginning their yoga journey. This is also a great gift for yourself this holiday season– you deserve it.
  2. Start Today Planner: ($29) Ah, what did I do before The Start Today Planner? I started using this planner by Rachel Hollis as a daily tool to achieve my biggest baddest dreams and goals and I can honestly say it’s been invaluable to keep me feeling calm and centered this year. I love it because it’s so much more than just a planner. It incorporates weekly and monthly planning pages with weekly and quarterly reviews so you can take a second to celebrate what you’ve accomplished so far and plan on what to do better to achieve more. It also has plenty of space to jot down your thoughts, feelings, and notes to keep you motivated and inspired. Perfect for the big dreamers on your gift lift!
  3. Chess Set: ($10+) This year I bought a chess set and started playing chess again. Yeah, I was playing Chess *before* The Queen’s Gambit came out on Netflix, thank you very much. But seriously, having a chess set around the house has been a lot of fun. I love how it keeps my mind active and challenge while keeping me off of the TV, cell phone, and computer screens! Gift this to the gamer in your life and plan an old school game night this holiday season.
  4. Inward: ($10) I heard my yogi friends incorporating excerpts from poet, meditator, and speaker Yung Pueblo into their virtual yoga classes. I was so moved and inspired that I picked up the book “Inward” and am so glad I did! This beautiful collection of poetry and prose explores a movement from self-love to unconditional love, the power of letting go, and what it means to truly try to know ourselves. I love reading a page every morning to start my day with the reminder that healing is 100% possible. Perfect for anyone and everyone this holiday season- everyone should own a copy!
  5. Eye of Horus Eyebrow Pencil:  ($30.00) Full brows are IN and I get mine with a little help from Eye of Horus. This smudge-proof, water-resistant formula is infused with Organic Castor Oil to stimulate hair growth and is made with 100% vegan, cruelty-free and ethically sourced ingredients. Find the perfect shade and gift it for the makeup master on your list.
  6. Feelgoodz Nomad Mule Women’s Slippers: ($30) I kept passing these slippers on the shelves at Whole Foods and I’m so glad that I *finally* picked up a pair. These cozy, handmade slippers feature woven fabrics, soft faux sherpa, and natural rubber. The fabric is sourced using direct trade principles in the weaving community of Phan Rang, Vietnam. I love slipping mine on in the morning and evening to keep my feet cozy and warm. Aaand sometimes on the weekends you *might* find me lounging in them all day long. I recommend gifting 1/2 size up!
  7. Andalou Naturals Exotic Marula Oil Silky Smooth Shampoo & Conditioner: ($20) I don’t know about you guys, but my hair got *long* this year. Which means I started to prioritize the way I treated. I started using this Exotic Marula Oil Silky Smooth Shampoo formulated with a patented Fruit Stem Cell complex and exotic Marula Oil this spring and fell in love. First of all, this shampoo and conditioner smells *amazing*. It works into a mild, low foam to hydrate, tame and soften your hair. I love it because it’s gentle and color safe while being packed with powerful antioxidants. It leaves my sort of frizzy hair in smooth waves and ringlets! Perfect for a curly haired friend or family member looking for cleaner hair care!
  8. Misfits Market Produce Box: ($22+) 2020 was the year of grocery delivery for me. It’s just so darn easy. I also started getting Misfits Market boxes delivered on a bi-monthly basis to supplement my grocery runs with a surprise of fresh produce. This subscription box is packed with unwanted yet delicious produce designed to break the cycle of food waste. They rescue high-quality organic produce that is unnecessarily thrown away due to slight aesthetic abnormalities. Billions of pounds of this fresh and delicious food is tossed each year because grocery stores only want “perfect” foods on their shelves. Instead, Misfits buys this food from hundreds of farms across the country and bring them to your doorstep! This would be an incredibly thoughtful gift for your loved ones and the planet!
  9. MZ Wallace Backpack: ($245) Back when I thought I was attending Expo West this spring, I bought this backpack as a comfortable alternative to a purse to tote things around the biggest foodie trade show of the year. When COVID forced the show to cancel, I stashed the backpack in my closet and didn’t pull it out until this summer. Oh my gosh, guys, why did I wait? I love it so much. I have and love an MZ Wallace purse already, so I shouldn’t be surprised that the backpack is just as functional, comfortable, and sleek. The Metro Backpack is super ultra-light weight with spacious compartments making it perfect for commuting, sports, or travel. This is a pricier item but is a solid investment for anyone looking for both style and function!
  10. La Crema Chardonnay: (~$15)  The first time I tried La Crema Chardonnay was at a restaurant with my good friend, Michelle. I took *forever* to make my selection because I’m not normally a white wine drinker. I’m also not normally a Chardonnay drinker when I do drink whites. However, this Sonoma Coast Chardonnay is the exception! On the nose there’s citrus, butterscotch, lemon peel, and a hint of spice. In the mouth you’ll taste citrus, pear, honeysuckle, and caramel. It’s buttery, smooth, and elegant. Since then I always grab a bottle when I see it at the store to have on  hand. Gift a bottle for a wine lover, your white elephant, or secret Santa!
  11. Rewined Chardonnay Candle: ($30) Earlier this year while trying to make home my sanctuary, I decided a sanctuary should have candles. I’ve never been into candles because I’m sensitive to their fake fragrance and intense smell. When I Googled natural candles I found Rewined. I was so intrigued with the concept of repurposing wine bottles to make hand-crafted wine-scented candles that I bought a selection on the spot. My favorite by far is the Chardonnay. This rich white candle smells lightly sweet with notes of vanilla and butter. I  love to light mine to unwind in the bathtub or placed as the table centerpiece to an elevated plant-based dinner.  All of the candles are made from premium natural soy wax so you can feel good burning and breathing them. Perfect for the candle lover on your list!
  12. Outdoor Research Women’s Vantage 7/8 Leggings: (~$89) When I started outdoor rock climbing this year I decided to get some pants that were super functional for crag life. I love these leggings because they’re form fitting but breathable and moisture wicking. They’re high-waisted with four roomy pockets in the back and on both sides to store all of the goods– like your phone or plant-based snacks! I wear these leggings off of the rock, too, for yoga, strength training, aerobics, etc. Perfect for the outdoor or indoor fitness enthusiast!
  13. Free 2b Dark Chocolate Sun Cups Gluten-Free, Dairy-Free, Nut-Free and Soy-Free – 2-Cup Packages (Pack of 12): (~$32) Ugh, these dark chocolate SunButter cups are so. darn. good. By far my favorite clean candy discovery of 2020. What’s not to love about Sweet SunButter encased in dark chocolate?! I love them because they’re vegan and gluten-free  in addition to being free of all common allergens. Perfect as a stocking stuffer for the clean treat seeker on your list!
  14. JoyLab Cozy Curved Hem Sweatshirt: ($30) I purchased one of JoyLab’s sweatshirts last year as a Christmas gift and it never made it to the receiver. I tried it on for size and couldn’t take it off, so it stayed with me. Since then, I’m pretty sure I’ve purchased one in every color. It’s *so* soft with a relaxed fit and thumbholes to keep your sleeves in place and your hands nice and toasty! You can wear it as activewear but I dawn mine in the evenings for lounging comfortably. Perfect to gift this year as we all try to be cozy and warm at home!
  15. Natural Life Phone Pocket: ($10)  I attached a phone ring from Natural Life to my phone this year and was surprised how much I use it now for accessing, holding, and standing my phone! This functional and fashionable phone accessory has a pocket that stores cards and cash with the rotating ring for stability and easy grabbing. I love to use mine to prop up my phone while texting or watching video. Gift this but grab one for yourself, too!
  16. WAK Beginner Dinka Scarf Kit: ($49) OK, so, I don’t knit. But my sister does and she’s really good at it. She recommended this starter kit as a fun gift for a craft lover, or anyone with a little extra time at home who is interested in learning to knit!  This kit includes everything needed to knit a scarf, and is made with chunky wool, which is ideal for beginner knitters.

#ad// {NEW!} When everything else feels hard, this #ad// {NEW!} When everything else feels hard, this Thai Carrot Sweet Potato Soup feels easy. 🥕🍠🥣 It also tastes amazing and every warm spoonful is like a comforting embrace. This Thai Carrot Sweet Potato Soup is made on the stovetop with root vegetables and yellow curry paste blended with a spoonful of nut butter. I love topping my soup with cilantro, @edenfoods Tamari Roasted Almonds, and @edenfoods Hot Pepper Sesame Oil.

@edenfoods Tamari Roasted Almonds are infrared roasted organic almonds with complimentary organic tamari soy sauce. They’re a delicious snack packed with protein and fiber. You can enjoy them on their own, added to trail mix, on salads and bowls, or…on soup!

@edenfoods Hot Pepper Sesame Oil is a delicious unrefined expeller pressed toasted sesame oil that is infused with hot red chili peppers. Friends, this stuff is HOT! Just a *drop* adds a big kick to your dressings, marinades, stir-fries, etc. If you have a wild side, add a drop or two to your soup bowl for a little extra heat!

Feel free to add your favorites, like roasted chickpeas, green onion, and sesame seeds.
