Easy Iced Almond Matcha Latte with a coconut twist! Lightly sweetened with maple syrup and super creamy with the addition of coconut butter.
Are you a morning person?
I used to be, but at some point I fell off the bandwagon and getting back on has been struggle city.
Dan’s brain starts working before mine in the mornings.
He can wake up and instantly start processing big things like finances, weekend plans, and household maintenance all before the sun has had a chance to shine.
I think we’ve come to an understanding, though.
He’s fine to mull these things over in silence, but they can’t be uttered to me until I’ve had at least one sip of my Iced Almond Matcha Latte.
With the weather getting warmer, I switched up my favorite Cinnamon Almond Matcha Latte for this cold classic!
Refreshing, lightly sweet, with an optional coconut butter twist.
It takes less time than the hot version does– and neither Dan or I (or you, dear friend) can argue with me getting my caffeine faster!
Let’s do it!
Confession time: I’ve been getting in this awful habit of falling asleep on the couch in the evenings.
Tell me I’m not alone.
Cozy under my favorite blanket with the footrest up, it’s hard not to get too comfortable.
Even with my laptop open with bright images of my latest recipes displayed, my eyelids start to get heavy and the walk to my bed feels EPIC.
I’ll just close my eyes for five minutes, I tell myself.
Famous last waking words.
Usually if I doze off, I wake up a few hours later, dazed and confused, and stumble my way upstairs to our bedroom.
Last night, though, I slept the whole night through, and didn’t wake up until I heard Dan coming down the stairs.
Needless to say I feel a little wonky today, so thank goodness for these Iced Almond Matcha Lattes to wake me up!
For reasons I don’t fully understand, I held onto the false belief that iced lattes are more difficult to make than the standard hot version.
Wrong. So wrong.
Literally all that you need to do is throw everything into a blender and blend, blend, blend, baby.
The blender does an excellent job of breaking down the matcha powder, maybe even better than a matcha whisk, I dare say.
In less than 5 minutes you have a frothy mixture that makes you want to belt out some eighties tune and dance while pouring it into a glass.
Serve it on the rocks or straight up (I love mine super cold over ice!) and enjoy immediately.
PSA: You might feel like you can save the world after the glass is dry. It’s cool. You can.
Enjoy these Iced Almond Matcha Lattes with Coconut Butter as a part of your summer morning ritual.
They’re easy to make and even easier to fall in love with.
While I like my Cinnamon Almond Matcha Latte sugar-free, I prefer this one with a bit of maple syrup, just because.
If you’re watching your sugar you can omit it entirely, but I love the touch of sweetness with every cooling sip!
I used a very small amount so add 1/2 tsp more if you prefer sweeter beverages.
Add a spoonful of coconut butter for extra creaminess and healthy fats.
If you’re cutting back on caffeine, try limiting the matcha powder to 1/2 tsp for the same great taste!
Enjoy, friends!
