Raw brownies made from dates, nuts, and seeds that are also gluten, grain, and refined sugar-free. Finish them with a matcha dusting for a snack or dessert.
Guys.
Over the weekend I went to my first ever goat yoga class with my sister.
Yes friends.
We did a glorious yoga flow amidst the cutest goats I’ve ever seen in a field of green.
Nothing crazy happened, but I did get my feet licked in downward dog.
We were advised to put away anything we didn’t want to get chewed away, so I tucked all of my raw bars and valuable into my purse and zipped it shut.
We did vinyasa and a series of forward folds and twists while the goats chowed happily on hay around us.
Every now and then one of them would let out a loud SNORT, a funny startling noise that I honestly didn’t know that goats made.
The kind of noise that I might make if you told me you weren’t drooling over these Matcha Dusted Brownies made with 5 ingredients and no oven mitts.
PSH.
Aside from goat yoga, raw brownies have been on my bucket list for a while.
I’ve wanted to share a raw brownie recipe but it seems like every time I think of it the weather cold out and baked brownies sound better.
But now it’s getting warmer out and I’m all about some no bake treats.
These Matcha Dusted Raw Brownies are oil-free, gluten-free, vegan, and grain-free with an energizing matcha finish.
What You Need to Make Raw Brownies
There’s a chocolate protein bar by Evo Hemp that was one of the lucky bunch I hid from the goats.
It’s called cashew cacao and the reason my purse is filled with them is because they tastes like sinking your teeth into a brownie.
Reminiscent of those bars, these brownies might have the simplest brownie batter you’ve ever sampled.
A mix of of dates and nuts create the sticky sweet base blended with raw cacao powder and hemp hearts.
Nuts and seeds add protein and healthy fats and dates sweeten the recipe with zero added sugars!
Brownies just got better for you.
Here’s what you need:
- raw walnuts
- raw almonds
- Medjool dates
- cacao powder
- hemp hearts
- cacao nibs
- Eden Foods Organic Matcha Green Tea Powder
That’s it!
The Equipment
I *need* to get a food processor because every time I make a sticky gooey recipe my Vitamix groans at me and reminds me it might be best saved for smoothie bowls and smoothies.
Still, it managed to make it through this no-bake brownie recipe I’m about to share with you.
We’ve been through so much together, I’m kind of feeling like I should give her a name.
Obviously it’s a she because she’s a badass babe.
Something sharp and sassy.
Victoria the vitamix?
A blender or food processor (that works) is invaluable for this recipe, friends!
How to Make Raw Brownies
These brownies are super easy to make!
Line an 8×8 baking dish with parchment paper and set aside.
Place the walnuts and almonds in food processor and process until finely ground.
Don’t over-process or you’ll have a nut butter!
Add the cacao powder and pulse to combine, then transfer everything to a bowl and set it aside.
Next, add the dates to the food processor and process until smooth and creamy.
Add ground nut and cocoa mixture back into food processor blend until well incorporated with the dates, scraping down the sides as needed to recombine.
Finally, add the hemp hearts and pulse everything until you achieve a dough consistency.
Transfer the raw brownie batter into the lined baking dish and press down with damp hands to form a flat even layer.
Transfer the dish to the freezer and chill for 30 minutes before slicing.
How to Serve Matcha Dusted Raw Brownies
Once the brownie pan is chilled, remove from the freezer and slice into 9-12 squares with a damp knife.
Add the matcha powder to a sifter and sift over cut brownie squares to finish the brownies with a match dusting.
Store the brownies in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week and freeze them for longterm storage.
Eden Foods Organic Matcha Green Tea Powder
These brownies, while delicious, aren’t much to look at straight from the pan.
So I’ve got to ask– why leave your brownies plain when you could shake them with green tea powder?
You guys know I love my matcha in the mornings but have you tried it in dessert?
I used Eden Foods Organic Matcha Green Tea Powder to coat my brownies.
This matcha adds a bit of aesthetic appeal while increasing energy, focus, and well being.
Trying using a matcha sifter to get an even layer of dust on each square!
The rich taste of matcha is perfect paired with cacao for a delicious antioxidant after party.
Notes on Meal Prep
Enjoy these Matcha Dusted Raw Brownies as a good for you dessert or healthy snack.
Keep them in the freezer for a sturdier brownie or in the refrigerator for a gooier brownie.
For ease in serving, try individually wrapping the brownie squares in parchment paper for storage and easy grab and go brownies.
I love mine as a sweet and uplifting afternoon snack or a nutritious after dinner dessert with a mug of tea.
If you don’t have hemp hears on hand, use extra walnuts or almonds to keep the ratios even.
Enjoy!

Nishi
My daughter is allergic to walnut and hemp. What can I substitute these with?
And she is also allergic to pecans, and chia.
Flora & Vino
Hi Nishi! I would sub cashews for the walnuts. She can eat almonds, right? For the hemp hearts, try adding additional 1/2 cup crushed nuts of choice. Let me know how it turns out!
