Creamy minty mango chip shamrock shakes with frozen mango, spinach, avocado, cacao nibs, and mint. Perfect to reset with greens after a late night!
Did I ever tell you guys that I used to pretend to be a leprechaun for my little sister?
Every year she put out a leprechaun trap carefully crafted with messy Scotch tape loops and alluring marker lines.
She left the trap by her bed, and I snuck in, dumped my piggy bank onto the taped masterpiece, and wrote something back in left-handed leprechaun scrawl.
Something that a fiesty leprechaun would write, like, “OH! You caught me!…Not my gold!”
I don’t know why, but it was important to me that she believed those little rascals were real and that she caught ’em.
This year, we’re catching Minty Mango Chip Shamrock Shakes!
No elaborate traps necessary– you just need a blender and lots of greens!
Ready?
Let me just say: these shakes are way better than any pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.
I noticed that in the shamrock-shake world, most of the recipes are more dessert-y, and of the recipes that are clean and plant-based, almost all of them rely on bananas for sweetness.
If you don’t tolerate raw bananas well, like me, these shakes are perfect for you!
I’ve been slurping on them since January, perfecting them to share for a fun banana-free shamrock shake variation.
The combination may sound a bit strange at first– mango, mint, greens, and cacao, but trust me.
It works.
These shakes are naturally sweetened with a bit of coconut water and frozen mango.
For sweeter variations, increase the coconut water and decrease the almond milk to find your perfect balance of sweet and creamy.
I like to pulse my cacao nibs in to leave come chip “chunks”, but you can fully blend them if you prefer.
Don’t skimp on the avocado in this shake, friends!
Adding it takes these green gems from shake to shamrock.
Blending it in adds healthy fats to make you feel fuller longer and makes the mixture emerald thick and creamy.
A note on consistency: you want your shamrock shakes to be thick and creamy, not watery and thin.
If your shakes come out watery, add a bit more frozen mango, and/or avocado to thicken things up.
Enjoy these Minty Mango Chip Shamrock Shakes for an easy blend-able breakfast or snack.
I love to slurp on one after a late night out when I’m not feeling my brightest and best, because the mix of electrolytes, protein, and greens feels so good to my bumbling body and mind.
They’re also wonderful for pre/post workout nourishment to refuel and refresh.
For “greener” shakes, double up on frozen spinach!
You can’t taste it and it packs in powerful nutrients to kick-start your day.
If you try these Minty Mango Chip Shamrock Shakes, let me know! I’d love to see how yours turned out!

Omg I am so happy I found your site! I made this smoothie today and it was like a mint chocolate chip birthday cake smoothie! I used fresh spinach instead of frozen because I forgot and also forgot we didn’t have cacao nibs so used Lily’s stevia chocolate chips but all worked well and it was so nice to have all of these lovely things in my body just from my morning shake! You will be seeing me more as I make more of your things but I really identify with how you think about your plant-based diet. Thank you!!
