Orange coconut creamsicles made with orange juice, coconut cream, and a touch of maple syrup. The perfect healthy treat to beat the heat!
If you’re reading this post from somewhere cool know that I am more than just a little jealous of you.
It was SO hot here this weekend, friends!
You know it’s hot if *I* think it’s too hot, because I’ve always loved the dog days of summer.
Heat? I laugh in the face of heat, Ha Ha Ha.
(I just saw The Lion King in theaters– if you get the reference.)
I went to hot yoga on Saturday and left honestly uncertain whether the great outdoors was remotely any cooler than the humid heated studio was.
Then on Sunday I got up early and laced up my tennis shoes, excited to get my run in before the sun was up.
Except the temp didn’t wait for the sun to start skyrocketing.
I ran about a mile and decided to switch my steady state cardio to popsicle making.
So here we are, left with the delicious results of our recent heat wave.
These Orange Coconut Creamsicles are guaranteed to keep you cool, calm, and collected today and the rest of the summer!
Make Homemade Orange Coconut Creamsicles
So, popsicles!
The best way to cool down on a hot day.
We always had popsicles in the freezer at home during summer break.
Grape, orange, strawberry, cherry…I ate them all.
My mom usually got the ones with real fruit, but I secretly loved the artificial ones I ate at my friends’ houses; laughing with purple, orange, and red tongues.
Mom was onto something, though.
These days, I only do popsicles if they’re made with real fruit and are refined sugar free and dairy free, which is harder to come by than you might think.
And what’s easier than scouring the freezer section is making your own!
These Orange Coconut Creamsicles only take 10 minutes to prep and then you’re on with your day.
They’re also refined sugar-free, vegan, and made with just three real food ingredients.
What You Need to Make Orange Coconut Creamsicles
These popsicles won’t turn your tongue orange but they will turn you into a popsicle fan, if you aren’t already.
Here’s all that you need:
- fresh squeezed orange juice
- coconut cream (from full-fat coconut milk can)
- maple syrup
That’s it!
Swaps and Substitutions
For the orange juice, make sure you use a juice that is 100% juice and not from concentrate. Better yet, squeeze fresh oranges yourself!
Be sure to only use the coconut cream, and not the entire coconut milk can for this recipe’s purposes!
When opening the coconut milk can, scrape off the solid white cream on top and reserve the remaining liquid for another use.
Coconut cream takes the place of regular cream to make these pops creamy, dreamy, and totally vegan.
If you aren’t a fan of coconut, don’t worry!
The sweet orange juice overpowers any overbearing coconut flavor.
How to Make Orange Coconut Creamsicles
All you have to do is blend up the ingredients, pour them into popsicle molds, and freeze.
A few pointers:
- The mixture will be super frothy and foamy right after blending. Let the mixture sit for a minute and allow some of the foam to liquify so the popsicles have a smooth appearance.
- Popsicles take 6-8 hours to completely set, depending on where they are in your freezer. I recommend making them overnight and enjoying them the following day!
- Allow the popsicles to sit out for 10 minutes before sliding out of the molds, or, alternatively, run them under warm water for 30 seconds for easier instant removal!
Don’t worry, you’ll be cool in no time.
How to Serve Orange Coconut Creamsicles
Enjoy these Orange Coconut Creamsicles as a refreshing warm weather treat.
You’re going to love the mixture of sweet orange and smooth coconut cream for a healthy frozen treat that’s packed with Vitamin C and healthy fats.
They’re perfect for kids, families, heat waves, vacations, staycations, and hoarding in the freezer for any old day.
I love that the recipe is a little more intriguing than your basic fruit-forward orange popsicle, but still easy to make with accessible ingredients.
If you’re looking for a lower sugar option, omit the maple syrup altogether and continue with the recipe as written for a no-added-sugar pop.
I made mine with orange juice because I love the combination of oranges and cream, but this popsicle blueprint recipe will work with any fruit juice!
Some other ideas that I think would be delicious are: grapefruit creamsicles, pomegranate creamsicles, or blueberry creamsicles.
Stay cool, friends!

- Yield: 8-10 popsicles
- Diet: Vegan
Description
Orange coconut creamsicles made with orange juice, coconut cream, and a touch of maple syrup. The perfect healthy treat to beat the heat!
Ingredients
- 2 cups fresh squeezed orange juice (I prefer pulp-free)
- 1 14-oz. can full-fat coconut milk, solid cream parts only!
- 2 TBSP maple syrup or date paste
Instructions
- Add the orange juice, coconut cream, and maple syrup to a blender and process until it’s smooth and frothy.
- Allow the foam to settle, then pour liquid into a popsicle mold. Depending on the size and shape of your molds, the mix should make 8-10 pops. Secure the lid and add popsicle sticks.
- Transfer the mold to the freezer and allow to freeze for 6-8 hours, or, ideally, overnight.
- Remove mold from the freezer and set out at room temperature for 10 minutes before serving, or run the mold under warm water for 30 seconds for easy removal.
- Enjoy immediately! Store leftover popsicles in the freezer for up to one month.
Notes
I recommend waiting to sprinkle Coco-Thins until just before serving to ensure the crumbles don’t get soggy in the freezer!
