SunButter & Jelly Bliss Balls that taste like a PB&J in energy ball form, without any nuts! Perfect to meal prep for on-the-go snacking.
Happy April, everyone!
I brought in the month with some wonderful women away at a bachelorette weekend in Pennsylvania.
It’s been a while since I was in the company *just* girls, and I thoroughly enjoyed the dressing up and down.
We shared a cabin and had a slow-paced weekend of hiking, games, wine tasting, exploring, and chatting.
It was also my birthday on Saturday, so there was lots to celebrate.
When I got home I was inspired to rearrange my entire closet for spring!
I replenished my closet hangers with pastel T-shirts where jewel-toned fluffy sweaters used to be.
These SunButter & Jelly Bliss Balls are the energy ball you need to get through your spring cleaning.
They’re perfect to meal prep for on-the-go snacking and taste like chewy a PB&J without any nuts!
It’s starting to get warmer and I’m excited to prep snacks for outdoor adventures this spring and summer.
I first started making these SunButter & Jelly Bliss Balls last summer when I wanted a quick bite on outdoor climbing days.
They’re perfectly sweet and nutty, just like a good PB&J should be, but made without any nuts!
I love that they’re sturdy and satiating and somehow manage to survive at the depths of my purse or climbing backpack.
How’s that for a magic ball?

That’s it!
How to Make SunButter & Jelly Bliss Balls
In a large mixing bowl, add the SunButter, maple syrup, oats, ground flaxseed, and chia seeds.
Mix everything together with a spatula or a wooden spoon until the ingredients are well-combined.
If the mixture is too dry and crumbly, add more SunButter and/or maple syrup.
If the mixture is too sticky or wet, add a bit more oats or ground flaxseed.
SunButter is a Nut-Free Alternative!
I love using No-Sugar-Added SunButter in this recipe.
The only ingredients are roasted sunflower seeds and salt!
It adds that delicious creamy nutty flavor without any added oils.
I love the hint of sea salt it brings to this recipe to balance out the sweetness of the jammy dried fruit.
It’s a wonderful substitute for peanut butter to give that PB&J flavor without any nuts!
SunButter is an excellent source of plant-based protein that makes these balls all the more mighty.
Tips & Tricks for Making Balls
Transfer the bowl to the refrigerator for 5 to 15 minutes to slightly chill and firm up.
Don’t skip this step if at all possible!
The time in the fridge allows the dough to set and become solid enough for rolling.
Remove the bowl from the refrigerator and scoop the dough into ~1 tablespoon increments with a cookie dough scoop.
Roll the dough into bliss balls with your hands.
The dough should make anywhere from 14-16 balls.
If the mixture sticks to your hands, try slightly wetting them with filtered water before rolling.
How to Serve SunButter & Jelly Bliss Balls
Enjoy these SunButter & Jelly Bliss Balls as an easy and energizing snack.
They’re totally plant-based, gluten-free, and naturally sweetened.
I love to prepare mine on Sunday for a portable snack to enjoy all week long.
These balls are perfect for pre/post workout fuel, kids’ lunches, your lunch, sweet snacking, or a healthy dessert.
The leftover balls will keep in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
For a fun variation, try subbing any dried berry (like blueberries or dried cherries) in for the dried cranberries instead.
Enjoy!
