4-Ingredient Peanut Butter Chocolate “Kiss” Cookies that are perfect for any sweet occasion! Easy enough to whip up in one bowl in less than 30 minutes.
I’ve been feeling nostalgic lately and everyone knows that the best way to cure that is with a big batch of cookies.
Peanut Butter and Chocolate.
I wish I could say that I came up with the combo.
What I did come up with, however, was a way to pair them together that is oil free, gluten free, and refined sugar free.
My Vegan Peanut Butter Chocolate “Kiss” Cookies require only 4 ingredients, 1 bowl, and a 10 minute wait!
The Peanut Butter Kiss Cookie is probably the first cookie I successfully made solo in my parents’ kitchen.
I carefully mixed up the peanut butter packaged dough, watched intently as it baked, and frantically pressed Hershey Kisses into their golden tops.
I wanted to put this copy-cat recipe on the blog because it’s one I pull out when I need a crowd pleaser that’s both plant-based and super delicious.
What You Need to Make Vegan Peanut Butter Chocolate “Kiss” Cookies
This is an approachable cookie, friends, the kind of cookie that even Dan won’t be able to resist picking up from the counter (see melty chocolate in photo).
And who could blame him– they’re perfectly browned, chewy, chocolatey, and the perfect balance of sweet and nutty.
Here’s what you need:
- all natural peanut butter
- ground flaxseed
- unrefined coconut sugar
- vegan dark chocolate
That’s it!
How to Make Vegan Peanut Butter Chocolate “Kiss” Cookies
These cookies are so easy to make!
First, preheat the oven to 350°F and line a baking pan with parchment paper.
Next, mix up your flax egg in a large mixing and set aside to gel for 5 minutes.
Add in the peanut butter and coconut sugar and mix until everything is well combined.
Drop 1 Tablespoon balls onto a parchment-covered cookie sheet and flatten them slightly with your hands.
Bake the cookies for 10-12 minutes, or until they’re golden brown underneath.
Note: The cookies will appear underdone when first removed from the oven. This is totally normal! They will set up as they cool!
The Best Chocolate for Vegan “Kiss” Cookies
These Vegan Peanut Butter Chocolate “Kiss” Cookies are all about the products you use to create varying flavors and textures.
I chose a creamy peanut butter (my favorite ever is THIS brand), but for more texture use crunchy, or for different taste, try any other nut butter of choice.
As far as chocolate, you know that I like my chocolate to be dark and refined sugar free, if possible.
Choose your favorite clean chocolate bar and break it into fun shapes.
I used this one!
Swaps & Substitutions
You can also use different flavors of chocolate to mix things up.
Like that one time I used a spicy orange chocolate bar and Dan took a big bite and looked at me inquisitively, completely confused by the taste explosion.
You can also sub any nut or seed butter for the peanut butter to create different flavor profiles.
Just keeping things interesting here!
How to Serve Vegan Peanut Butter Chocolate “Kiss” Cookies
Remove the cookies from the oven, then break up your favorite chocolate bar and press chocolate pieces into the center of each cookie.
Work quickly so the cookies are still warm when you press the chocolate in!
Allow the cookies to cool slightly before you serve them.
Store any leftover cookies in an airtight container for 3-5 days or freeze for long-term storage.

I’d love to drool over your melty chocolate and see what combinations your tried out.

These were so good!! I used whatever brand of dairy free/refine sugar free chocolate bars my local grocery store had and even my husband loved them. They were really easy to make and came out perfect. They were quick and easy. I plan on making them again tonight!! 🙂

These cookies were excellent! Who doesn’t like the smooth flavors of peanut butter and chocolate together? Like other commenters here, I loved the simplicity of the recipe. The cookies were just too easy to make–especially after a long work day. Unfortunately, I didn’t have coconut sugar on hand so substituted dark brown sugar. I will need to make these with coconut sugar if only because of the difference in the glycemic index values between these two sugars. The version I made tasted great though. I also decided to experiment on a second batch where I added a cup of oats and reduced the amount of sugar by 1/4 cup–and added an extra flax egg for increased binding because of the oats. I also baked the cookies a bit longer. Loved these versions too as I enjoy the addition of the oats. And perhaps that’s what I appreciate most about the recipe: they are so simple that you can play a bit as desired but don’t overly deviate from the spirit and beauty of the original recipe.
