Ingredients
Chocolate SunButter Hummus
- 1 can (15-oz.) chickpeas, drained and rinsed
- 1/2 cup Organic SunButter
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/3 cup pure maple syrup (or adjust to taste)
- 2–3 TBSP unsweetened almond milk (or any plant milk)
- Pinch of sea salt
Toppings
- Vegan chocolate chips
- Sliced almonds
- Fresh berries
- Coconut flakes
Instructions
- Blend chickpeas: In a food processor, combine the drained chickpeas and a pinch of salt. Blend until smooth.
- Add chocolate goodness: Add the SunButter, cocoa powder, and maple syrup. Blend again until creamy.
- Adjust texture: Slowly add almond milk, 1 tablespoon at a time, until the hummus reaches your desired consistency. It should be smooth and spreadable.
- Taste & tweak: Taste your hummus and add more sweetener or cocoa if desired. Blend again briefly.
- Serve & enjoy: Transfer to a bowl and top with your favorite toppings. Serve with fruit slices (like strawberries or apples), gluten-free crackers, or use as a spread on toast.
Notes
Tip: Chill for 30 minutes for a thicker, fudgier texture—it makes it even more dessert-like!
