Ingredients

Chocolate SunButter Hummus

  • 1 can (15-oz.) chickpeas, drained and rinsed
  • 1/2 cup Organic SunButter
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/3 cup pure maple syrup (or adjust to taste)
  • 23 TBSP unsweetened almond milk (or any plant milk)
  • Pinch of sea salt

Toppings

  • Vegan chocolate chips
  • Sliced almonds
  • Fresh berries
  • Coconut flakes

Instructions

  1. Blend chickpeas: In a food processor, combine the drained chickpeas and a pinch of salt. Blend until smooth.
  2. Add chocolate goodness: Add the SunButter, cocoa powder, and maple syrup. Blend again until creamy.
  3. Adjust texture: Slowly add almond milk, 1 tablespoon at a time, until the hummus reaches your desired consistency. It should be smooth and spreadable.
  4. Taste & tweak: Taste your hummus and add more sweetener or cocoa if desired. Blend again briefly.
  5. Serve & enjoy: Transfer to a bowl and top with your favorite toppings. Serve with fruit slices (like strawberries or apples), gluten-free crackers, or use as a spread on toast.
