Description

Best black bean burgers made with black beans, almond flour, and oats. Enjoy with your favorite toppings for plant-based burger night!

Ingredients

Best Black Bean Burgers

  • 2 flax eggs (2 TBSP ground flaxseed + 5 TBSP filtered water)
  • 2 15-oz. cans Eden Foods Organic Black Beans
  • 3/4 cup almond flour
  • 1/4 cup gluten-free old-fashioned rolled oats
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tsp cumin
  • 2 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/41/2 tsp Himalayan sea salt
  • 1/4 tsp ground black pepper
  • 2 TBSP Eden Foods Organic Roasted Sesame Tahini

For serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Add the black beans to a mixing bowl and slightly smash them, leaving some whole beans intact. Add in the almond flour, oats, garlic powder, cumin, chili powder, smoked paprika, Himalayan sea salt, black pepper, and tahini. Mix well to combine. The batter should be pretty thick and compact.
  3. Using a ~1/3 cup measuring cup, scoop out the mixture and transfer it to the parchment lined baking sheet. Gently press down on the burgers with the bottom of the measuring cup to flatten them. The recipe makes about 6-8 burgers.
  4. Bake the burgers for a total of 20 minutes, carefully flipping them with a spatula after 10 minutes. Bake the burgers longer for drier crispier burgers and less time for softer, more pliable patties.
  5. Enjoy burgers on a bun or in a lettuce wrap with all of your favorite toppings. I love mine with sauerkraut, tomato, lettuce, and mustard.
  6. Store leftover burgers in an airtight container in the fridge for 3 to 5 days and freeze them for long term storage.
