Description
Decadent dark chocolate brownies with black sesame butter. Sweetened with unrefined coconut sugar and frosted with an oil-free black sesame cacao frosting.
Ingredients
Black Sesame Butter Brownies
- 1/2 heaping cup Eden Foods Black Sesame Butter (or sub regular tahini)
- 1 cup unrefined coconut sugar (use 3/4 cup if you like darker chocolate!)
- 1 1/4 cup oat flour (or sub another gluten-free flour of choice with varied results)
- 1/4 cup raw cacao powder
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk
Black Sesame Butter Frosting
- 2 TBSP maple syrup
- 2 TBSP raw cacao powder
- 2 TBSP Eden Foods Black Sesame Butter (or sub regular tahini)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F and line a square 8 x 8 pan with parchment paper.
- Add all of the ingredients to a large mixing bowl and mix with a fork until the batter is well combined. The finished product should be thick and moist, not dry and crumbling. If your dough is dry, add 1-2 Tablespoons more almond milk or black sesame butter and recombine. Start with 1 Tablespoon and add more if needed.
- Spoon the dough into the parchment lined pan and smooth it into an even layer with your hands or a spatula.
- Bake the pan for 18-20 minutes, or until the edges start to pull from the pan and the surface starts to split and brown.
- Remove the brownies from the oven and allow them to cool completely before frosting.
- While the brownies are cooling, create your frosting (optional) by whisking together the maple syrup, raw cacao powder, and black sesame butter until smooth.
- Once the brownies have cooled, frost them with a thin layer of the black sesame cacao frosting and cut them into squares. Store any leftover brownies in the refrigerator for 5-7 days and freeze for longterm storage.
