Description
Raw brownies made from dates, nuts, and seeds that are also gluten, grain, and refined sugar-free. Finish them with a matcha dusting for a snack or dessert.
Ingredients
- 1 cups raw walnut
- 1 cup raw almonds
- 2 1/2 cups pitted Medjool dates (pitted // if dry, soak in warm water for 10 minutes then drain // 2 1/2 cups equal ~15 ounces)
- 3/4 cup cacao powder
- 1/2 cup hemp hearts
- 2 TBSP cacao nibs (optional)
- 1 tsp Eden Foods Organic Matcha Green Tea Powder
Instructions
- Line an 8×8 baking dish with parchment paper and set aside.
- Place the walnuts and almonds in food processor and process until finely ground. Don’t over-process or you’ll have a nut butter! Add the cacao powder to the blender and pulse to combine. Transfer the mixture to a bowl and set it aside. Next, add the dates to the food processor and process until smooth and creamy. Add the ground nut and cacao mixture back into food processor blend until well incorporated with the dates, scraping down the sides as needed to recombine. Finally, add the hemp hearts and pulse everything until you achieve a dough consistency.
- Transfer the raw brownie batter into the 8×8 lined baking dish and press down with damp hands to form a flat even layer.
- Transfer the dish to the freezer and chill for 30 minutes before slicing. Once chilled, remove from the freezer and slice into 9-12 squares with a damp knife.
- Add the matcha powder to a sifter and sift over cut brownie squares to finish the brownies with a match dusting.
- Store the brownies in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week and freeze them for longterm storage.
