My Top Plant-Based & Gluten-Free Pantry Staples

Here are my go-to plant-based staples I always have in my pantry, fridge, and freezer with my favorite brand recommendations! Happy grocery shopping!

FROZEN FOODS:

  • Hilary’s Eat Well Meatless Veggie Burgers 
  • Cascadian Farms Cauliflower Rice Blends
  • Siete Almond Flour Tortillas
  • Food For Life Wheat-Free Bread
  • organic frozen vegetables
  • edamame
  • organic frozen fruit

BEANS/GRAINS:

  • legume-based pasta (check out Chickapea Pasta and Tolerant Foods)
  • quinoa
  • brown rice
  • gluten-free old-fashioned rolled oats

PLANT-BASED PROTEIN:

  • plant-based protein powder (I use Aloha and Tone It Up)
  • organic extra-firm tofu
  • tempeh

NUTS/SEEDS/DRIED FRUIT:

  • medjool dates
  • hemp hearts
  • chia seeds
  • dried fruit (I love Fruit Bliss!)
  • unsalted sprouted nuts (Try Blue Mountain Organics)
  • flaxseed meal
  • unsweetened shredded coconut

BAKING:

  • aluminum-free baking powder
  • Superfine Almond Flour
  • Gluten-Free Oat Flour
  • unrefined coconut sugar
  • raw cacao powder
  • dairy-free dark chocolate chips
  • silan (date syrup)

PANTRY:

  • lemon juice
  • lime juice
  • avocado oil
  • no-sugar-added pasta sauce (My favorite is Cucina Antica)
  • jarred tomatoes, diced and crushed (my favorite is Jovial)
  • vegetable broth (get one without added sugars and natural flavors like Pacific Foods Organic Veggie Broth)
  • canned, jarred, or boxed beans (I get the boxed kind from Whole Foods or cans by Eden Foods)
  • canned coconut milk (I like to have the original AND the light on hand)
  • sauerkraut
  • pure maple syrup 
  • apple cider vinegar
  • balsamic vinegar
  • green and black olives
  • tomato paste
  • curry paste
  • favorite spices
  • Tandoori Masala seasoning— it’s amazing!!!
  • dried herbs
  • canned pumpkin
  • unsweetened apple sauce

SNACKS:

  • Simple Mills Crackers
  • granola (I love KitchFix Grain-Free Granola, Purely Elizabeth Granola, Wildway Grain-Free Granola, and Grandy Oats Granola)
  • Rise Bars: Use “FLORA25” to get 25% off!

  • Bare Snacks Baked Fruit Chips

DAIRY/MEAT SUBSTITUTES:

  • dairy-free yogurt (Lovve Lavva is my favorite)
  • Treeline Treenut Artisan Nut-Cheese
  • unsweetened almond milk (Malk is the best!)

CONDIMENTS/SPREADS:

  • tahini (I prefer a runnier tahini like Soom Foods or Eden Foods)
  • peanut butter or any nut butter (I love Crazy Richards, Georgia Grinders, and Artisana Organics)
  • SunButter
  • hummus (oil-free, if possible! I love Cava organic hummus!
  • salsa (This is my favorite ever!)
  • mustard

DRINKS: 

  • Health-Ade Kombucha
  • low-sugar Green Juice (Garden of Flavor Mean Greens is the best)

JUST ‘CAUSE:

  • red wine
  • Hu Kitchen Dark Chocolate
  • Lesser Evil Popcorn
  • Hail Merry treats

#ad// {NEW!} When everything else feels hard, this #ad// {NEW!} When everything else feels hard, this Thai Carrot Sweet Potato Soup feels easy. 🥕🍠🥣 It also tastes amazing and every warm spoonful is like a comforting embrace. This Thai Carrot Sweet Potato Soup is made on the stovetop with root vegetables and yellow curry paste blended with a spoonful of nut butter. I used a standing blender but you can also use an immersion blender to achieve the creamiest consistency.

I love topping my soup with cilantro, @edenfoods Tamari Roasted Almonds, and @edenfoods Hot Pepper Sesame Oil. 

@edenfoods Tamari Roasted Almonds are infrared roasted organic almonds with complimentary organic tamari soy sauce. They’re a delicious snack packed with protein and fiber. You can enjoy them on their own, added to trail mix, on salads and bowls, or…on soup! 
 
@edenfoods Hot Pepper Sesame Oil is a delicious unrefined expeller pressed toasted sesame oil that is infused with hot red chili peppers. Friends, this stuff is HOT! Just a *drop* adds a big kick to your dressings, marinades, stir-fries, etc. If you have a wild side, add a drop or two to your soup bowl for a little extra heat! 

Feel free to add your favorites, like roasted chickpeas, green onion, and sesame seeds.

M and I have plans to visit True Food Kitchen this M and I have plans to visit True Food Kitchen this week for V-Day and it reminded me of this Harissa Toasted Cauliflower I made inspired by their menu item. Whether you love TFK as much as I do, you’re going to be obsessed with my version of this cauliflower! It’s baked and then coated in a tahini sauce and topped with fresh herbs, cranberries, and hazelnuts. Enjoy it as an appetizer or side! Cozy and delicious all year round.
