Today I added a plant to my plant family. 

A spider plant! 

My grandparents used to have one hanging in their sunroom, the tufts hanging low from their green striped foliage. 

After asking Instagram what plant I should get for the new place, I received several spider plant recommendations. 

When I rounded the corner and saw a sea of them at Whole Foods, I decided it was a sign and carried my favorite to the checkout. 

Now it’s perched in my living room, getting acquainted with my split leaf philodendron and the daylight from the deck window. 

I like to think it looks happy. 

What’s been also been bringing me joy lately is this new butter recipe I’m sharing with you today.

This Blueberry Cashew Butter is made in less than 10 minutes with just three ingredients 

It’s mildly sweet, berry-y, and kind of addicting.

Make You Own Cashew Butter

Cashew butter is my absolute favorite.

Something about cashew blended into a creamy butter always makes me swoon.

I think it tastes like edible cookie dough. 

So, what could make it better? 

Well, probably the addition of my other obsession, blueberries!

I was inspired by a Strawberry Cashew Butter recipe I saw online and decided to make my version- with bluebs. 

This recipe is a spin off of my Raw Walnut Cashew Butter with a berry twist.

What You Need to Make Blueberry Cashew Butter

Here’s what you need to make Blueberry Cashew Butter: 

  • raw cashews
  • raw walnuts
  • freeze-dried blueberries

That’s it!

How to Make Blueberry Cashew Butter

Before getting berry-licious, I like to make a nut butter with the raw cashews and walnuts.

I love adding walnuts to the mix because their natural oils break down quickly and make the blending process easier. 

Add the raw cashews and walnuts to a high-speed blender or food processor and blend them up until they’re smooth and creamy. 

I used a Vitamix to make mine!

M watched me make nut butter for the first time during the making of this recipe and I think he was surprised how fast it went. 

Scrape down the sides as needed with a spatula to recombine and use a toggle (if you have– mine goes with the Vitamix) to move the nuts around the blade.

I recommend stopping the blender every 60 seconds or so to allow the blender motor to rest. 

Bare Snacks Banana Chips

Add the Blueberries

Once the cashews and walnuts are very smooth and creamy, add in the freeze-dried blueberries and process them until they’re well-combined with the nut butter.

This will take about another minute or so, until the nut butter turns a pretty purple color. 

Taste the mixture for texture and consistency and see what you think. 

The freeze-dried blueberries should add a beautifully mild sweetness without any added sugars needed! 

I processed mine for an additional minute to get a smoother nut butter.

You can also leave it as is for a bit more texture!

Bare Snacks Banana Chips

Serve your nut butter immediately with Bare Snacks Simply Banana Chips!

These 1-ingredient banana chips are the absolute best, and that’s saying a lot, because I’m not even the biggest banana-fan. 

Sure, I’ll eat it in banana bread, but raw bananas aren’t really my jam.

Maybe it’s a texture thing, because these chips rock my world.

They’re made with no preservatives and no added oil, baked to crispy crunchy perfection.

Blueberry, bananas, and nuts were born to be together. 

These banana chips make for the perfect vehicle for eating Blueberry Cashew Butter!

Serving Ideas

And, if you don’t have banana chips on hand, here are some other serving ideas: 

  • on a bagel 
  • in a classic PB&J
  • on a breakfast quesadilla
  • on apple sliced or fresh fruit 
  • in a smoothie or smoothie bowl 
  • on pancakes or waffles 
  • on rice cakes 
  • on toast 

+ any other combos you can think of!

How to Serve Blueberry Cashew Butter

Enjoy this Blueberry Cashew Butter as a fun twist on homemade cashew butter. 

I love to make mine in advance on Sunday and enjoy it as a spread for the entire week. 

For different variations, try subbing out the freeze-dried blueberries for another freeze-dried berry, like raspberries or strawberries. 

The freeze-dried berries add a natural sweetness without any added sugars! 

And the best part is that this nut butter keeps in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 2-3 weeks.

However, mine only lasted about a week in the fridge between M and me!

Description

3-ingredient homemade cashew butter made with freeze-dried blueberries and raw nuts. Serve with Bare Snacks Banana Chips for an easy snack!


Ingredients

  • 2 ½ cups raw cashews
  • ½ cup raw walnuts
  • ¾ cups freeze-dried blueberries (1 1.2 oz bag)
  • Bare Snacks Simply Banana Chips, for serving

Instructions

  1. Add the raw cashews and walnuts to a high speed blender or food processor (I used a Vitamix!) and process until smooth and creamy. Scrape down the sides as needed with a spatula to recombine and use a toggle (if you have one) to move the nuts around the blade. The nuts should go from a crumble to a flour to a rough spread to a smooth butter in 3 to 4 minutes. Stop the blender every 30-60 seconds to ensure it doesn’t overheat. 
  2. Once the cashews and walnuts are smooth and creamy, add in the freeze-dried blueberries and process until they’re well-combined with the nut butter. This will take about another minute or so.
  3. Taste the mixture for texture and consistency and process for an additional minute for smoother nut butter or leave as is for more texture. 
  4. Serve it immediately with Bare Snacks Simply Banana Chips!
  5. Transfer the nut butter to an airtight container and store in the refrigerator for 2-3 weeks.
