Dan had the TV on the other night watching something.

Our “TV room” is connected to the kitchen area to create one giant space in our condo, so it’s usually a constant sound competition of clanging dishes, running water, and shouting newscasters!

I’m not much of a TV watcher (I’m more of a binge watcher of Netflix shows, ya know?) so when Dan has it on I usually tune out the different vibrations of mumbling from channel to channel.

Is there anything better than walking out of an apple orchard with a bucket full of hand-picked apples?

We haven’t been apple-picking yet this year, but I’m excited to go within the next few weeks.

I always rely on Dan to grab the really high up pristine spheres, while I gingerly pick through the banged up bottom shelf for a diamond in the rough.

Have you ever eaten breakfast in bed?

I can’t say that I have.

It’s one of those things that sounds so perfect in theory, but when it comes down to it is actually kind of hard to pull off.

Once I’m up, I’m up.

And then there’s the logistics of serving and eating without getting breakfast ON your bed…

If I had to pick a breakfast in bed meal, though, it would be these Strawberry Rhubarb French Toasts.

They’re the perfect balance of cozy and fancy to brighten up your bedspread.

And since it’s Mother’s Day and all, you should probably make them for your mom and serve them to her in bed Sunday morning.

I thought this recipe was appropriate for Mother’s Day because rhubarb always reminds me of my mom’s rhubarb pies.

The best part was the rhubarb filling.

I used to dig my spoon deeper and deeper into the interior of the pie, extracting all of the sweet pink until finally I was left with a concave pie crust.

It was really good filling. I’ve never been a big pie crust eater, unless it’s graham crackers crust.

But that’s a story for another post.

This Thai Carrot Sweet Potato Soup is made on the stovetop with root vegetables and yellow curry paste blended with a spoonful of nut butter. I used a standing blender but you can also use an immersion blender to achieve the creamiest consistency.

Whether you love TFK as much as I do, you’re going to be obsessed with my version of this cauliflower! It’s baked and then coated in a tahini sauce and topped with fresh herbs, cranberries, and hazelnuts. Enjoy it as an appetizer or side! Cozy and delicious all year round.
