Cauliflower Wings battered and air-fried, then mixed with Spicy SunButter Sauce for a delicious appetizer or small bite.

Did you watch the Super Bowl a few weeks ago?
M and I had a little watch party at home complete with beer, vegan burgers, and lots of, “What just happened?”
Neither of us are the biggest sports fans, and even though football has been explained to me approximately 32356 times, it still hasn’t sunk in.
But the commercials were great and the food I made was even better.
It was Super Bowl weekend when I dug out the air fryer and tested some new savory snacks.
I’m so excited to share with you the very *first* air-fryer recipe on Flora & Vino!
Naturally, it had to be with cauliflower, because cauliflower can do anything.
It can even fly, because today, we’re giving it wings.
These Spicy SunButter Cauliflower Wings are battered and air-fried, then mixed with Spicy SunButter Sauce for a delicious appetizer or small bite.

What You Need to Make Cauliflower Wings
Truth: You don’t need to follow sports to love wings.
And you don’t need to eat meat to love wings, either!
The secret to the best cauliflower wings is to batter them in a grain-free batter to ensure maximal crispiness.
Here’s what you need to make Cauliflower Wings:
- almond flour
- cornstarch
- garlic powder
- paprika
- Himalayan sea salt
- unsweetened almond milk
- cauliflower
That’s it!

How to Make Cauliflower Wings
First, preheat the air fryer to 350°F.
In a large bowl, whisk together the almond flour, cornstarch, garlic powder, paprika, and sea salt.
Add the unsweetened almond milk and whisk everything until it’s smooth.
Add the cauliflower florets and toss them in the batter several times with a spatula to make sure they’re completely coated.

When the air-fryer is pre-heated, lift the cauliflower florets out of the batter with tongs or two forks, pausing to allow any excess batter to drip off.
Arrange the cauliflower in a single layer in the air fryer basket, leaving a little space around each floret.
Be sure not to stack the cauliflower florets or have them all bunched together, as this prevent them from getting crispy!
Depending on the size of your air fryer and the size of your head of cauliflower, you will probably need to make 2-3 smaller batches.
Close the air fryer drawer and set the timer for 5 minutes.
Shake the cauliflower after the timer goes off and put them back in for another 5 minutes.
Check if the cauliflower is tender after 10 minutes; if it’s not, put the cauliflower back in for another 5 minutes.
The cauliflower will be done anywhere from 10-15 minutes, depending on the size of your florets.
You want the cauliflower wings to be nicely browned and crunchy on the outside and tender on the inside.
The cauliflower wings are done when they are fork tender on the inside and lightly browned and crispy on the outside.

What You Need to Make Spicy SunButter Sauce
When the cauliflower is almost done, make the spicy SunButter sauce.
Here’s what you need to make Spicy SunButter Sauce:
- Organic SunButter
- lime
- Tamari Lite
- sriracha
- maple syrup
- filtered water
That’s it!

How to Make Spicy SunButter Sauce
Whisk up the SunButter sauce by adding all ingredients to a small bowl.
I used Organic SunButter for this recipe because it gives the sauce a nice nutty flavor and a super smooth and creamy texture.
You want the sauce to be thick but pourable.
Add more hot water, as needed, to thin.

Once the cauliflower wings are done, add them to a large bowl and pour a generous amount of spicy SunButter sauce over the air-fried florets.
I like to add enough sauce so that the wings are well coated but not dripping.
This recipe makes a bit extra for dipping on the side.
M prefers more sauce than I do, so add based on your preference and adjust as needed with the extra!
Use a spatula to lightly mix to completely coat the cauliflower in spicy SunButter sauce.
Be sure to mix carefully so your cauliflower doesn’t lose its breading!

How to Serve Spicy SunButter Cauliflower Wings
Serve the cauliflower wings topped with green onion and sesame seeds and of course, more Spicy SunButter sauce for dipping.
M and I love enjoying this dish as a happy hour snack with wine/beer, or as an appetizer to the main course.
Each time we made it, we finished off an entire head of cauliflower in one sitting!
It would also be fantastic as a side dish for entertaining, a small bite for watching the game, or a solo snack.
Store any leftovers in an airtight container and reheat them in the microwave before serving.
However, these cauliflower wings are best served fresh!
If you have extra Spicy SunButter sauce, lucky you!
Enjoy it as a dip for veggies, crackers, chips, or drizzled in salads, bowls, and sandwiches.
Enjoy!

Can you make these in an oven and if yes, what temperature would you use?
Thank you
Hi Bonnie! I haven’t tested this yet, but I would try 400-425 degrees for 20-25 minutes or until the cauliflower is fork tender. Mix them at the half way point. Let me know how they turn out!
