Are you enjoying the most wonderful time of the year?

Currently, my annual snowmen Christmas card box is sitting on our dining room table, glittery and unopened.

All 40 of them.

Do you still read magazines?

Not online, but physical magazines that come to your house with glossy covers and colorful contents dripping with advertisements.

I used to sit on the floor of my college bookstore between classes nestled between the magazine racks, fashion magazines strewn in an arc around me.

I was obsessed with how pretty and polished everything looked, staring at red bottoms dressed in sneakers and wishing my fairy god-mother might show up and send me to the ball instead of my next exam.

After college I took a break from mags because, well, they kind of just made me want to buy everything.

Today, I’m kind of getting back into magazines, but instead of looking for the latest “it” bag I’m seeking the latest “it” bowl.

Opening those tiny squares gave me the same instant satisfaction that crossing off a day on the calendar does on my massive wall calendar today.

Who else agrees that baking > shopping?

This might be the first Black Friday in the history of Black Fridays that I didn’t purchase anything.

Nada. Zilch. Zero.

This speaks volumes, because I used to create tactical lists and battle tactics to ensure I hit all of my favorite stores and their enticing sales.

These days, combating hundreds of humans hungry for the sweetest savings makes me tired and anxious just thinking about.

In my defense, I always feel a few weeks ahead of the rest of the world because in the “blogger-sphere” we constantly anticipate the upcoming seasonal recipes.

Dan came downstairs and told me it was a little weird, seeing as how it wasn’t Thanksgiving and all.

Ok, ok. We can give thanks first.

In my last post, I talked about how Thanksgiving sides rule, so today I want to introduce you to the one side that rules them all.

This Vegan & Grain-Free Sweet Potato Casserole is low in sugar and super easy to whip up in advance for your guests this week!

All you need are a bunch of taters and a cookie crumble topping!
