3-ingredient homemade dog treats made with old-fashioned rolled oats, natural peanut butter, and banana. Perfect for your pups and human-friendly, too!

3-Ingredient Peanut Butter Banana Dog Treats by Flora & Vino

Hello!

This post is a little different but if you live with a furry friend or see one on the regular then they’re going to love it so you should stick around.

It’s Harper’s third birthday today so I thought we should celebrate!

For the past three years I’ve been making her these super simple baked dog treats to ring in her big day.

Each year I have to dig it up the recipe to make and share, so I’m finally sharing here so none of us lose it ever again!

It’s hard to forget, because these biscuits are done in under 30 minutes with clean pantry ingredients.

You just need peanut butter, banana, and oatmeal to make these 3-Ingredient Peanut Butter Banana Dog Treats for a happy pup.

And if you’re so inclined, they’re absolutely human-friendly too, for a lower sugar cookie snack!

3-Ingredient Peanut Butter Banana Dog Treat Ingredients

What is it about peanut butter that dogs LOVE so much?

If there’s PB on a spoon in the open dishwasher, Harper makes a beeline for it, licking and lapping until I shut the door closed and scold her.

When friends come over and Harper *won’t stop* begging for attention, the only solution is tucking a heaping spoonful of peanut butter into the center of a Kong for Harper to riddle over for hours to come.

Or at least 20 minutes.

Anyway, I get it, Harper.

Peanut butter is delicious– particularly when baked into cookies!

What ingredients are dog-friendly?

I get asked a lot if Harper eats a vegan diet.

The short answer is no.

But guys, she sure does love peanut butter, banana, and oats.

She takes after her momma.

She doesn’t, however, love greens, no matter how much I will her to pick up the spinach and kale that falls to the floor during my recipe shoots.

(I mean, what’s the point if they can’t double up as your vacuum cleaner?! I KID.)

The long answer is that I want her be able to eat all of the things that growing healthy pups need.

Just because she isn’t plant-based doesn’t mean I don’t check out the ingredients that go into her food, making sure she has clean options in her bowl, too!

These treats are the kind of reward you can feel good placing in your dog’s bowl (or on their snout– if you’ve watched our circus act on Instagram).

What You Need to Make 3-Ingredient Peanut Butter Dog Treats

Let’s start with our quality of ingredients.

Harper had digestive troubles as a puppy, and in the beginning she had to eat a special food to heal her tummy.

Ever since then, I’m cautious about what we give her and what quantity.

With these cookies, I made sure the ingredients are 100% dog safe and friendly!

You need:

  • super ripe banana (the riper the better!)
  • natural peanut butter (no added oils, sugars, preservatives, or flavoring, please!)
  • gluten-free old-fashioned rolled oats (or you can sub oat flour, instead!)

I opted to make my own oat flour for this recipe, but you can also buy store-bought oat flour to eliminate using the blender.

That’s it! No added sugars, no rising agents, no oils, no gluten, no surprises.

How to Make Homemade Dog Treats

The method is simple– you just smash everything together in a large mixing bowl until you have a workable pliable peanut butter-y dough.

Depending on the size of your banana(s), you may need to add a little extra peanut butter (say 1-2 TBSP) to add more moisture to the batter.

You want to add more peanut butter if you’re dough if dry and crumbly– don’t worry, your pup will thank you later.

Next you roll the dough out on a floured surface or a large sheet of parchment paper.

I didn’t measure, but I’d say 1/4″ thick dough is about what to aiming for.

How to cut your treats into fun shapes

Now here’s the fun part!

We cut the dough into cookie cutter shapes– I love these bones shapes in different sizes!

If you’re in a hurry, you can skip the cookie cutting altogether and instead roll the dough into 1″ balls and flatten with your hands to make a totally respectable circular treat.

I’m guessing your pup won’t care what shape they’re in but I, of course, am partial to the bone shapes for presentation!

It’s all too easy to over-bake these treats, so watch them closely around the 15 minute mark.

The cookies are done when golden brown underneath.

They may seem fragile to the touch, but they firm up when outside the oven for a few minutes.

Make sure to allow them to cool completely before serving to yourself or your furry friend!

Why Make 3-Ingredient Peanut Butter Banana Dog Treats

These 3-Ingredient Peanut Butter Banana Dog Treats are the perfect clean dog treat to spoil your pup!

They’re ideal to make as a homemade gift to a dog-lover for a birthday or seasonal holiday!

They keep for several weeks refrigerated and for one week at room temp.

If you want to make for multiple pooches, simply double or triple the recipe for treats for days.

When I make them for Harper I like to make a huge batch and save the cookies in the fridge for weeks to come.

She loves it!

These cookies are also totally human-friendly if you’re looking for a lower sugar peanut-butter banana snack cookie.

Make a batch for meal prep and you and your pup can duke it out for the last peanut butter banana treat.

Description

3-ingredient homemade dog treats made with old-fashioned rolled oats, natural peanut butter, and banana. Perfect for your pups and human-friendly, too!

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups gluten-free old-fashioned rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup natural peanut butter
  • 1 large ripe banana (or 2 medium bananas), smashed

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Blitz the oats in a blender until you have a fine flour, or, alternatively, use oat flour instead. Set aside.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, smash the peanut butter and ripe banana. And the oat flour and smash with a fork until the dough is thick and well combined. If it’s crumbly, add 2-4 Tablespoons more peanut butter and recombine. You want the dough to be firm, sticky, and pliable
  4. Roll dough into a thin slab, about ~1/4 inch thick, and cut into shapes with a cookie cookie. Alternatively, you can roll them into ~1 Tablespoon balls and flatten with your hands for a simple circular cookie.
  5. Bake for ~15 minutes until lightly brown underneath. Allow to cool for 10-15 minutes before sampling or sharing with your pup!
  6. Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 weeks!

You can use the same amount of oat flour as the rolled oats, 1 1/2 cups.

Easy and dogs loved them. I used my food processor to chop the oats, then added the peanut butter and banana to the oats, and processed the mixture, adding more oats as needed to allow the dough to pull from the sides of the processor bowl. Then rolled and cut into bone shapes. I used stamp letters to personalize them.

My dog (and I) loved these peanut butter cookies! I was worried they would be hard but they turned out slightly soft/chewy inside which was great for my senior dog 🙏 I added a tablespoon of maple syrup and some cinnamon powder because I like my cookies a bit sweeter and I knew I would be sharing them with her! Great, simple recipe with clean ingredients ❤️

Thanks, Bob. I did not know dogs shouldn’t eat almond butter in any significant amount. While it isn’t toxic, many dogs do have trouble digesting it. I don’t want to find out that my dog is one of them by giving her a bad tummy ache! Better to stick to something I know she can eat without trouble.

Hi! It depends on what cookie cutter you use. It makes anywhere from 24-36 treats.

Recently I made this recipe for Chelsea, my friend Shirley’s senior dog.
We actually enjoyed a few this coffee . I had added some bits of leftover steamed sweet potato which was a yummy addition.
Shirley shared some of the ‘cookies’ with her grown sons telling them afterward, that her friend had made the treats for the dog.
Every few weeks I make a batch of these treats for Chelsea and Shirley and I do enjoy them with tea or coffee.

Thanks so much for this simple, healthy and delicious recipe.

We have a rescue that we’re re-training so bribes…I mean treats…lol…are critical (especially with an 18 mo old Great Dane!)!!! I use your base oats, pb and banana, but I also add a pureed apple sometimes and some wheat flour if the dough is too wet. Just awesome, making another batch right now!

Should I be worried if they bottoms on some are not golden brown? They do seem to be a little more chewy because they were thicker but as long as I don’t have to worry about then going bad because of it I was just to to keep them that way.

My mini dachshunds love them. I added some cinnamon and rolled it flat in a big baking sheet. Before baking I scored it into tiny squares so when baked I can just snap them apart. Then I put the separated cookies back on the sheet and pop in the freezer for a bit so they don’t stick together when I freeze them. I take out a few days at a time and they last a long time. My boys ring a bell for cookies constantly so they need to be small!

Great recipe-thank you! I made a double batch and got about 150 one inch hearts, perfect for little party goodie bags. I plan to use this recipe all the time. I found if you like them crispy roll thinner, chewy then roll thicker. I used 1/4 inch as instructions say and thought it was a great mix between crisp and chew. Before rolling I sprinkled a little extra oat dust and it rolled great. Very versatile recipe, you aren’t going to mess it up by adding more of something to get the right consistency either. Thanks again for the recipe!

I made these dog cookies and they were a big hit. I didn’t have a banana so I subbed 1/2 cup applesauce. I had to add a little more rolled oats so it wasn’t so sticky. Rolled them in balls and flattened with a fork. Gave them to friends and they said the dogs loved them. I also share with my neighbours Yellow Lab Déjà and she gobbled them up. This is such an easy recipe and love that I don’t have to use flour. I’m known as the dog cookie lady with all my dog friends.

Our dogs were outside singing with the neighbors’ dogs while I was making these. One came inside, so I gave her a bit of dough. She kept running out to see what was going on and running back in to beg for more. When the treats were baked and cooled I gave one to each of them. Now they won’t leave me alone! They rarely beg, so these must be exceptionally delicious! Thank you for this recipe!

These treats just became our weekend “pup & me” ritual—my rescue beagle lost her mind over the smell of warm banana-peanut butter wafting from the oven! I swapped the oat flour for brown-rice flour (gluten-free household) and they still held together perfectly.
Pro-tip for anyone with a speed-eating hound: slice the baked slab into training-sized cubes, freeze half, and dole them out frozen—it buys you 30 extra seconds of sit-stay focus. I turned the full recipe, calorie count, and safety chart (yes, double-check that PB is xylitol-free!) into a printable card on —grab it, tag your four-legged taste-testers, and let the tail-wagging commence.

These pods contain the seeds for the next crop and, when dried, they are frequently used in floral arrangements and other decorative crafts. Great post! I love how simple and wholesome these 3-ingredient peanut butter banana dog treats are — a perfect homemade treat for any pup 🐶. It’s lovely to see recipes that use just natural pantry staples (oats, banana, peanut butter) and come together so quickly.

As someone who runs a webshop (PlakatPortalen.dk) focused on making homes more beautiful and personal, I believe that small touches — whether it’s easy homemade recipes or thoughtfully selected wall posters — help create a warm, inviting home. This kind of mindful, caring approach resonates with the same spirit I aim for with my posters: simple, heartfelt, and made to bring joy.

Thanks for sharing such an easy and dog-friendly recipe — I’ll definitely try it for my own home.

**Flash Bitcoin & USDT Available for Serious Buyers – Up to 90 Days of Full Functionality**

Are you a serious buyer seeking immediate access to high-value cryptocurrency without lengthy delays? **Flash Bitcoin and Flash USDT** are now available for verified clients who understand the unique nature and temporary validity of these digital assets. Unlike traditional crypto, Flash coins are generated using advanced software that creates blockchain transactions appearing 100% real—with full confirmations—and usable across major platforms for a limited time.

    We offer three core solutions:
1️⃣ **Flash Bitcoin** – Instant BTC deposits ranging from $2,000 to $10,000,000 in value.
2️⃣ **Flash USDT** – Fully functional Tether tokens on TRC20, ERC-20, and other networks.
3️⃣ **FlashCore Software** – Premium desktop tools (Gold, Premium, and Online Basic versions) that let you generate your own Flash BTC (3–5 BTC daily) or Flash USDT (up to $550,000 daily).

    ### Why Choose Our Flash Crypto Services?

✅ **Fully Tradable**: Use your Flash BTC or USDT on exchanges like Binance, Kraken, or for forex trading and gift card purchases.
✅ **Convertible**: Swap into other cryptocurrencies or fiat—though any converted assets will also disappear after the 90-day window.
✅ **Splittable & Transferable**: Split your balance and send to up to 100 different wallets. Supports Segwit, Legacy, and BCH32 addresses.
✅ **Real On-Chain Appearance**: Transactions receive full blockchain confirmations and display as legitimate in explorers.
✅ **Controlled Duration**: Assets remain active in your wallet for **50 to 90 days**, depending on the software tier, before being automatically rejected by the network.

Our **FlashCore BTC Software** (available in Gold, Premium, and Online Basic editions) includes built-in SHA-256 encryption, TOR/VPN integration, real-time blockchain verification, and priority transaction fees for rapid confirmations. Each license is hardware-bound to a single PC for security—resold copies are scams and will not function.

Similarly, the **Flash USDT Generator Software** supports TRC20 and ERC-20 networks, offers adjustable daily limits, and ensures lightning-fast, verifiable transfers with enterprise-grade security.

⚠️ **Important Note**: Flash coins are **temporary** by design. They are ideal for short-term trading, arbitrage, or liquidity needs—but **not** for long-term holding. After 90 days (or sooner, depending on settings), the blockchain will invalidate the transaction, and funds will vanish.

We serve clients in over 210 countries with 24/7 support, one-time payments, and no hidden fees. All software is regularly updated and backed by professional blockchain developers.

#ad// {NEW!} When everything else feels hard, this #ad// {NEW!} When everything else feels hard, this Thai Carrot Sweet Potato Soup feels easy. 🥕🍠🥣 It also tastes amazing and every warm spoonful is like a comforting embrace. This Thai Carrot Sweet Potato Soup is made on the stovetop with root vegetables and yellow curry paste blended with a spoonful of nut butter. I used a standing blender but you can also use an immersion blender to achieve the creamiest consistency.

I love topping my soup with cilantro, @edenfoods Tamari Roasted Almonds, and @edenfoods Hot Pepper Sesame Oil.

@edenfoods Tamari Roasted Almonds are infrared roasted organic almonds with complimentary organic tamari soy sauce. They’re a delicious snack packed with protein and fiber. You can enjoy them on their own, added to trail mix, on salads and bowls, or…on soup!

@edenfoods Hot Pepper Sesame Oil is a delicious unrefined expeller pressed toasted sesame oil that is infused with hot red chili peppers. Friends, this stuff is HOT! Just a *drop* adds a big kick to your dressings, marinades, stir-fries, etc. If you have a wild side, add a drop or two to your soup bowl for a little extra heat!

Feel free to add your favorites, like roasted chickpeas, green onion, and sesame seeds.
