From a young age, I’ve been a bit, shall we say, *high maintenance* with my sleep accessories.
There, I said it.
A nightstand has always been essential to me, supporting my bedside buddies like a glass of water (always), hand cream (a must), my glasses within reach (I’m blind without them!), and for most of my adult life, my clear plastic retainers (sexy, I know).
And then there’s the fun stuff, like the latest book club book, a tangle of gold necklaces and rings, and a framed picture from yoga teacher training.
You get the idea.
That’s why I was so excited to receive my new Natural Wood End Tables before moving to Maryland.
What better time than during a move to de-clutter and refurnish a new bedside table?
The delivery guys unwrapped them on either side of my bed, revealing two beautiful pieces of natural wood furniture for me to put all of the bed things on.
These Natural Wood End Tables feature reclaimed wood, eco-conscious materials, and environmentally conscious manufacturing.
It’s the perfect piece of furniture to house your room’s essentials, the fun non-essentials, and everything in between.
I love the design of these end tables!
They’re sturdy, sleek, and functional with a rustic vintage flair.
The Natural Wood End Tables are made in California along with Avocado mattress’s other products.
Their wood shop in Los Angeles is an FSC® certified (C156318) factory that is powered entirely by renewable energy– so freaking cool!
Anyway, these end tables feature clean, modern lines that complement its function and form.
Each end table has an easy to open drawer so no handles or knobs are needed!
Avocado Mattress handcrafts their furniture to meet the highest standards of environmental and consumer safety.
This means they rescue California Douglas firs and repurpose them into reclaimed rustic furniture.
All of the wood used is the real deal; this means that no MDF or particle board is used in the wood-working process!
The result is a high-quality piece of furniture that allows the rustic natural wood to shine through.
I’ve been working on making my house “greener” for the past few years; carefully curating pieces that are made with safety in mind and match my style.
After learning that furniture paints and finishes are among the leading causes of indoor air pollution and that particle boards commonly used in furniture construction often contain known carcinogens, I’m cautious about what furniture to invest in.
Avocado Mattress use none of these nasties and their products are scientifically proven to meet the strictest standards for chemical exposure, pollutants, VOCs, formaldehyde, and phthalates.
Their assembly uses specialized wood glues that produce no harmful fumes. They meet the requirements considered for safe use with arts and crafts, and are even approved for indirect food contact!
Choosing sustainable safe furniture is a small step towards a healthier, environmental-friendly living.
Also, these end tables are eco-friendly!
All of the woods used in manufacturing are certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC).
No trees were harmed in the manufacturing of Avocado furniture, which in turn, helps to protect natural resources, reduce waste, and promote sustainability.
Much of the wood used in the table’s construction is reclaimed from buildings constructed 50 to 100 years ago.
That’s a lot of history going into these end tables!
This dense reclaimed wood is harder and more durable than any new lumber on the market, making for a super sturdy table.
Because no trees are cut down and in need of transportation, Avocado’s process also avoids wood waste and emissions associated with the logging, transport, and processing of new wood.
They’ve got a spacious top to house the essentials, an expansive drawer to catch small things, and a bottom shelve to stack things like books or magazines.
But you can do whatever you want with your end tables!
I think they’d also be fantastic in the living room next to the sofa, or as an end table to give any room more storage and table space.
Together, they form a furniture collection that’s better for you and the environment.
If you aren’t in the market for a new end tables just yet, that’s OK!
This post is here to spread awareness about the awesome options and support to the brand that makes them possible.
This post is brought to you by Avocado Mattress, but all words are my own. Thanks for supporting the sponsors that keep me well-rested!
