Sometimes reality TV is weirdly comforting to me. 

The day I first made this a single serve breakfast cookie I was simultaneously binge-watching Love Is Blind Season 2 on Netflix. 

Judge me, but watching these “love stories” unfold from the comfort of my living room was wildly cathartic. 

And inspired me to make an equally cozy baked breakfast. 

I alternated between sitting on the TV couch and standing by the oven to check on the cookie progress. 

When it was done I enjoyed mouthfuls of cookie while watching drama unfold on the TV screen. 

I’ve made plenty of breakfast cookies on Flora & Vino, but I’ve never made a *single* breakfast cookie. 

This Banana Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Breakfast Cookie is made with, oats, banana, and dark chocolate chips. 

Each cookie has all of the healthy nutrition of a bowl of oats, shaped and baked into a crave-able cookie! 

It bakes in just 22 minutes with 7 ingredients you probably already have on hand.

Are you an April Fools jokester? 

I played the *best* April Fool’s joke on M this year and I’m pretty proud of myself. 

I filled an empty jar of his favorite cashew butter with tahini and waited for him to drizzle it all over his usual breakfast bowl. 

He did, of course, and called me on April Fool’s Day to ask why the cashew butter tasted so bitter and roasted. 

To which I replied, “Well, that’s probably because it’s actually an entire jar tahini…”

He was slightly speechless, friends. 

To his credit, he continued to eat the entire breakfast bowl, anyway, tahini drizzle and all. 

Jokes aside, I have a new pasta recipe for you that’s fresh, fun, and elevated. 

This Soba Noodle Stir-Fry with White Wine Garlic Sauce is ready in under 30 minutes.

Happy April, everyone! 

I brought in the month with some wonderful women away at a bachelorette weekend in Pennsylvania. 

It’s been a while since I was in the company *just* girls, and I thoroughly enjoyed the dressing up and down.

We shared a cabin and had a slow-paced weekend of hiking, games, wine tasting, exploring, and chatting. 

It was also my birthday on Saturday, so there was lots to celebrate. 

When I got home I was inspired to rearrange my entire closet for spring!

I replenished my closet hangers with pastel T-shirts where jewel-toned fluffy sweaters used to be.

We are a granola household, friends. 

It’s my favorite crunchy topping to any breakfast situation. 

Usually I’m happy to buy and support my store bought favorites (there are so many good ones!), but when I make store bought granola, I do it with *feeling*. 

I think M would be happy if we never bought store bought granola again. 

Which I might be on board with, if this Lemon Blueberry Cashew Granola didn’t disappear quite so fast from the cabinets. 

He *loves* the stuff I make, because we can control the ingredients, texture, and sweetness. 

In this house, we like chunky, lightly sweet, granola with lots of nuts, seeds, and berries.

Will you go to the store for *just one* ingredient? 

A few weeks back M and I had a plant-based pizza party planned when I looked in the fridge I realized we were out of our usual vegan mozzarella. 

Dang it. 

M suggested that we enjoy our pizza cheese-less, but I was set on something cheesy and satisfying. 

I’m so glad that I didn’t go to the store for one ingredient, because the lack of cheese inspired this recipe! 

I immediately did some research on making a vegan cheese at home and decided to wing it with a homemade vegan cashew tahini mozzarella. 

We liked the homemade cashew cheese *so* much, it became a staple pizza night option. 

This Vegan Margherita Pizza with Cashew Tahini Mozzarella is perfect for an elevated plant-based pizza night at home.

I highly recommend pairing it with a glass of Barbera!

I have my first sunburn of the year, friends. 

The warm pink glow on my forehead is a reminder of happy hours spent outdoors on Saturday. 

This past weekend I hiked the “Difficult Run” 10 mile trail in Virginia with friends.

It was strange to sweat and squint in the sunshine; my body and brain adjusting to the feeling of actually being HOT. 

It felt so good, despite the fact that my face probably got a little more Vitamin D than necessary. 

As of yesterday, it’s officially Spring, so I’m testing all of the seasonal flavors in F&V kitchen.

These Carrot Cake Almond Flour Muffins are my current favorite seasonal snack.

On Friday nights, M and I have an unofficially official “date night” where we make a nice dinner and watch a movie. 

It’s kind of a big deal for me because M isn’t a movie guy, so it’s the *one* night a week I can coax him to commit to a full film. 

Usually for dinner we make something outside of our normal weeknight menu.

Something a little, fancier, a little elevated, something we wouldn’t normally make mid-week. 

The best part is that we typically make the recipe together, which is always fun. 

Sashay back and forth across the kitchen linoleum bumping into each other with condiments and fighting over the sink. 

It’s the best kind of chaos.

It was special because it was M’s first ever homemade sushi, so I had to walk him through the process.

Hello!

I haven’t posted in a while and that’s because I’ve been a bit busy with video. 

No, I didn’t start a YouTube channel, but I have bene dabbling in Instagram reels and I even created a TikTok account (come say hi!). 

If you’re on social media lately you know that our feeds are now filled with moving images set to popular music.

It’s a brand new world, friends. 

It’s helped me to approach the project as a big experiment, and as a total beginner. 

The whole endeavor kind of feels like Flora & Vino did in my business baby’s infancy stages. 

New, exciting, and scary, with low lows and high highs and a step learning curve. 

All for the potential of a viral post or video, right? 

I’m less concerned with going viral and more concerned with continuing to provide you with delicious content, like this Blended Cacao Chip Chia Pudding.

One of my besties and I have frequent virtual movie nights where we start films at the same time and watch separately but together.

“3, 2, 1, GO!” we type furiously vix text message and quickly jab the PLAY button from different states. 

We sit down with wine and snacks and half-watch half-talk through the movie plot. 

There’s something so cozy and comforting about co-watching something at the same, even from a distance. 

And what better snack to cozy up to than a plant-based popcorn? 

I’ve decided that we need this “Cheesy” Vegan Popcorn for our next movie night.

Are you a planner? 

If you’ve been around here a while, you probably know that I am the plannerly-est of planners. 

I’ve always gotten heart eyes over bulleted checklists, scrawling grocery lists, and color-coded calendars. 

But lately my spreadsheets and planners and journals have been a bit out of control. 

If I spend all of my time planning, I’ll never actually get to the *plan*, you know? 

M is much more intuitive and fluid in his scheduling and actions. 

It always amazes me how he can wake up and *not know* what’s going to happen; to do what feels good and not what a TO-DO list says TO DO. 

The concept baffles me. 

So I’m working on being a little less rigid in my expectations in myself, my day, and my time. 

Luckily, this Vegan Brownie Batter Dip doesn’t require much planning. 

In fact, I feel safe betting that you have most of the ingredients in your pantry already.

I used a standing blender but you can also use an immersion blender to achieve the creamiest consistency.

Whether you love TFK as much as I do, you’re going to be obsessed with my version of this cauliflower! It’s baked and then coated in a tahini sauce and topped with fresh herbs, cranberries, and hazelnuts. Enjoy it as an appetizer or side! Cozy and delicious all year round.
