A collection of my current 2022 favorites to inspire meaningful gift ideas for you and yours this holiday season. Happy holidays!
Happy happy holidays, friends! This time last year I was preparing for my first trip to Germany to meet all of M’s family and friends. This year we’re staying in the states to spend the holiday with my family and our friends here. So this is actually our first Christmas in Maryland, and I’m excited to decorate and deck the halls in a new space. I got my “Christmas box” out before Thanksgiving and started my Christmas gift brainstorming early because I have so many ideas! Here are a few of my favorite 2022 discoveries that I want to share with you this year. Check them out and see if they might be a good fit for you or someone you love. - Fix & Fogg: (Prices vary) It’s been a while since a new nut butter amazed me, but that’s before I tried Fix & Fogg. I’m so glad this New Zealand based Certified B-Corp brand made it to the U.S.! All of their nut butters are NON-GMO, vegan friendly and palm-oil-free. They have the *best* flavor and the perfect hint of sea salt. My favorites are the crunchy peanut butter, smooth almond butter, and cashew butter. But honestly, you can’t go wrong with any of their nut butters! Oh, and now my parents are obsessed, too, after I gifted some to my mom for her birthday. Perfect for a stocking stuffer for a nut-lover!
- Crocks: (Prices vary) Confession: I always thought crocks looked silly until I saw how effortlessly my girlfriend slipped on shoes and exited the tent in the mornings during our summer camping trip. No struggling to wiggle into socks and tie shoes with laces. I finally got a pair specifically for outdoor adventures and was amazed how lightweight, breathable, and functional they are. They’re the perfect footwear to slip into after hiking, for walking around the neighborhood, on long car rides, and more. I have the classic clog in slate grey, but you can get different styles and bold colors to make more of a statement.
- Mayorga Coffee: (Prices vary) Earlier this year my dad suggested I reach out to Mayorga Organics because he saw that their coffee was local to Maryland. I did, and struck up a friendship and partnership with the brand as well as a deep respect for the company, their organic and sustainable practices, and the delicious coffee it yields. They are the biggest organic roaster on the east coast! I started out this year as a dark roast lover but have slowly been dabbling in more medium and light roasts. My first love was the Café Cubano Dark Roast! Grab a bag for the coffee lover on your list.
- Travelon Bags: (Prices vary) Last Christmas when I traveled overseas for the first time I wanted to take a purse with me that was more functional than flashy. These Travelon bags were highly rated on Amazon so I took a chance on them and I’m so glad that I did. The crossbody bag is both stylish and functional, with tons of storage space and pockets that make being on the go easy and organized. I liked it so much that I kept using the bag after getting back from Germany and it’s still my every day purse a year later. Perfect for the world traveler on your list!
- Gold Hoop Earrings: (~$170) I don’t wear a lot of jewelry and when I do it’s usually simple gold posts. Recently, I wanted to add a pair of classic gold hoops to my jewelry rotation. I have sensitive ears so I need to wear 14K gold jewelry. These gold hoops were the perfect purchase that met all of my strict jewelry needs! They’re lightweight, elegant, and dainty. The hoops are the perfect width and have a bunch of different sizes to get the statement you’re looking for. Perfect for the classic jewelry lover in your life!
- Lighter: ($16) If you know me you know that I love everything that Yung Pueblo does. His latest book released this year demonstrates how we can all learn from our past and move forward into a brighter, lighter future that will then positively impact and inspire the people and community around us. Perfect for the self-improvement junkie on your list.
- Manduka Go Play Yoga Mat Carrier Sling: ($39) When I started teaching yoga this past year I decided to invest in a mat carrier to make commuting to the gym easier. I was tired of rocking up to the gym half carrying/ half dropping my Manduka mat! This carrier sling is fantastic and totally takes the stress out of transporting my mat! I love that it has adjustable straps and large pocket space to include everything I need for teaching practice. This is a great gift for any yoga enthusiast.
- Outdoor Research Echo T-Shirt: (Prices vary) When I googled the best shirts for running, these shirts came up on a running blog post. I’ve had success with OR products in the past, so I ordered some for my marathon training. I’m obsessed with how light-weight, breathable, and comfortable they are. I loved them so much that I bought another short sleeved shirt and two long sleeved in different colors. They’re the answer to dressing for all of your fitness and outdoor needs! They sell the same style of shirt in men’s sizing, too. Perfect for the outdoor enthusiast on your list.
- Goodr Sunglasses: (~$25) I ordered my first pair of Goodrs when I started outdoor rock climbing. I wanted sunglasses that were non-expensive, pliable, and sturdy enough that they wouldn’t break if dropped. These goodrs exceeded *all* of expectations, and they look stylish and fun, too! They have this amazing non-slip design that keeps them from slipping down your nose during activity. They worked amazingly for rock climbing and I relied on them heavily for my marathon training this year. These days, they’ve officially replaced my fashion frames as my everyday sunnies.
- P.F. Candle Co.: ($24) I’ve always *wanted* to be a candle person but have never really been one. That’s because I’m very sensitive to smells and prefer a low odor and natural candle. This L.A. based brand makes vegan, cruelty-free, and phthalate-free candles with 100% soy wax. Some of their scents are low-odor, like the Teakwood & Tobacco (my first of their candles) and my latest obsession (Pinon). Now I happily burn candles to create a cozy mood around the house. Perfect for the candle lover on your list.
- Hass Apparel Fleece Sweatpants: (Prices vary) Earlier this year I had the opportunity to work with Hass Apparel to try their new line of organic and sustainable clothing. I fell in love with these sweatpants in particular for lounging, sleeping, and everything in between. They’re made from super soft micro modal and durable Supima cotton. They have a drawstring tie waist, cinched ankles, and deep pockets. I live in them!
- RMS Lip2Cheek: ($36) When it gets colder I love switching to cream-based makeup products to add more hydration to my skin routine. This creamy color is cool because you can use it on both your lips and cheeks! The easily blendable shade is made with silky shea and cocoa butters. I love the “Spell” color for a wash of nude dusty rose. Perfect as a stocking stuffer!
- Ceramic Plant Pots: ($75) Planter pots have become a bit of a low key obsession for me as I grow my plant-fam. These ceramic plant pots were the perfect home for my latest additions. They have a waterproof coating and drainage holes inside the planter and their cracked glass design is both chic and stylish. They have different sizes to fit all sorts of plants! Perfect for the plant lover on your list.
- Daughter of Smoke & Bone Trilogy: ($30) I started Book 1 of this fantasy series for my book club over the summer. I got so hooked and invested in the series and the story that I ended up slacking on the designated bookclub book for the next few months because I was reading my way through this series, instead. It’s a great gift for fantasy lovers or anyone looking for an easily readable series. ($30)
- Calm App: (Prices vary) This year I wanted to get serious about my meditation practice but was struggling to find motivation. A girlfriend of mine recommended the Calm pp. Their daily meditation is gently guided and enlightening. The sessions are only 10 minutes long so I can easily fit it into my morning routine. They also have a wide library of meditations to fit all of your needs!
- Cactus Short Sleeve Graphic T-Shirt: Sometimes you get lucky and you find a T-shirt that you love. I randomly found this T-shirt at Target and yes, I love it. It’s casual, soft, fun, with a relaxed comfortable fit. And it has plants on it!!! Sharing this in case anyone else feels like they see themself in this shirt, too.
