Overnight oats with a spoonful of tahini lightly sweetened with maple syrup. Prep several jars in advance for easy weekday breakfast on the go!

Maple Tahini Overnight Oats in mason oats with maple syrup and tahini by Flora & Vino

A friend of mine recently pointed out to me laughing over the cellphone that I tend to do things either all the way or not at all.

Yes, that’s about right.

As much as I strive for balance, my brain thrives on that black and white, 100% or 0% mentality.

This week, for instance, I was ALL IN with reinstating some structure into my mornings to make for smoother day-sailing.

This translated to getting up before the sun, sipping on a cinnamon almond matcha latte, and shuffling through a quick home workout before the world wakes up.

I flirt with being a morning person, but I think I’m finally ready to commit.

Spending that time for me myself and I makes me feel invincible all day long.

Like, throw all of the poorly lit photography days and major recipe fails at me, because I can TAKE IT.

And because I was 100% committed to making my mornings the sturdy foundation for a high-vibe day, I made breakfast for days.

I decided to prep for success with some super simple overnight oats.

Hi there, Maple Tahini Overnight Oats, my most special 5-ingredient friend and fuel.

fresh figs, oatmeal, chia seeds, maple syrup, and tahini by Flora & Vino

A Fresh Overnight Oats Flavor

It’s been unseasonably warm here in Virginia for October, with beautiful 75 degree days, low humidity, and striking orange and pink sunsets.

I walked outside with Harper in absolute bliss wishing I could hit a “bookmark” button to capture the weather like I do on Instagram with striking photos and recipes.

I’ll be needing/missing you come December, flawless fall days.

So despite the fact that it’s most definitely fall, it’s not too chilly yet.

These Maple Tahini Overnight Oats manage to be cozy without any cook time!

Honestly, I started off Monday with some PB&J Overnight Oats (a classic, of course), but by Tuesday I was ready to get a little more creative.

I’ve been teasing a Maple Tahini Overnight Oats recipe on Instagram for a while now, so I decided to tackle the recipe this week!

I tested three different variation in mason jars, oats, tahini, and maple syrup measurements all over our granite kitchen counters.

I knew I wanted them to be super creamy, lightly sweetened, and packed with protein.

As it turns out, they’re also super addicting.

The Perfect Maple to Tahini Ratio

Staring at them stacked in the fridge, I knew one of them would be a winner because I’m not new to the maple tahini combination even though my oats are.

The mixture of tangy tahini and sweet maple syrup is one I love in my sips and dressings, so why not in my oatmeal?

For me, it was all about getting the maple to tahini ratio correct.

I typically keep my oatmeal added sugar free, but the tahini needs a bit of sugar to balance out the rich sesame butter flavor.

If you really don’t like maple syrup you can substitute a date paste instead.

However, I prefer the maple flavor and the ease of use of syrup to cut down on prep time and dirty dishes!

I recommend adding less maple syrup, taste-testing in the morning, and then adding more if you prefer sweeter oats.

My motto is that you can always add more maple syrup but you can’t add less!

If you’re worried about the tahini being too “tahini-y”,  try starting off with 1/2 Tablespoons before committing to an overflowing spoonful.

Before you know it you’ll be drizzling tahini on all of your meals like yours truly!

How to Enjoy Maple Tahini Overnight Oats

Make these Maple Tahini Overnight Oats as an easy anytime breakfast to fuel you for your best day!

They’re perfect to shake things up when you’re tired of your go-to overnight oats recipes on repeat.

I like them in overnight oat form, but if you want a warmer breakfast you can heat them up on the stovetop or in the microwave before serving.

For an extra protein boost, try adding in a spoonful of protein powder.

Both chocolate and vanilla protein powder are delicious.

Serve with your favorite granola (chocolate is so good here!) and fresh sliced figs for a fall feel.

Enjoy!

Description

Extra creamy overnight oats with a spoonful of tahini lightly sweetened with maple syrup. Prep several jars in advance for easy weekday breakfast on the go!

Ingredients

  • ½ cup gluten-free old-fashioned rolled oats
  • ½ cup unsweetened almond milk
  • 1 TBSP runny tahini
  • 1 – 2 tsp maple syrup (I like to start with 1 tsp and add more in the morning if I feel like it)
  • 2 tsp chia seeds
  • 1 TBSP vanilla OR chocolate protein powder (optional)

For serving

  • fresh sliced figs
  • 1 TBSP your favorite granola– I like this kind!

Instructions

  1. Add all of the ingredients to a mason jar and stir everything gently to combine.
  2. Cover the mason jar and transfer to the refrigerator overnight.
  3. In the morning, add a little more almond milk to reach your desired consistency. Taste the oats and add a little more maple syrup if needed.
  4. Serve the overnight oats immediately with fresh sliced figs and your favorite granola. Overnight oats will keep in the refrigerator for 3-5 days.

I’m on EXACTLY the same page! I waver between Matcha and Java but I saw your post about giving up coffee and I was like – GIRL – me toooooooo. But coffee is also my vice and my ONE, my UNO and sometimes my ONLY naughty pleasure so I’ve been tinkering.
Morning workouts are life! I use Youtube videos like HasFit, Fitness Blender and Sydney Cummings. I have two littles so getting up before them ensure that I know they’re safe and sound and I’m nourishing myself.
Lastly – OATS – yum. And Tahini, mind you. Definitely two of my favorite foods. I just soaked some oats and chia seeds with dates and PB2 and added some chopped apple for tomorrow morning post workout and pre-grad school. Sorry for the long message, lol, I should probably head on over to my own blog and report. Mahalo from Waikiki for doing You and going ALL IN. XO

Hi Katie! I hear you…coffee is just so good! I need to check out those YouTube workouts! I can imagine that getting it in before the kiddos wake up is a must. You’re going to LOVE these oats! Also your combination of dates and apple sounds DELISH. Kind of like apple pie! Hope grad school is going well! XOXO.

I LOVE these so much. They are creamy and delicious and feel decadent for a morning breakfast while also being SUPER quick and easy. I added extra chia kind of by accident, and like the extra density. Blueberries work great on top, and I definitely recommend the larger amount of tahini :). I can’t say enough good things about these!! Seriously think everyone should eat them for breakfast.
